Project Management and MORE
I have other project management books and although they are excellent, this book stands out. It gets into the WHYs of project management, as well as the HOWs. It covers case studies of several mistakes that companies make and how project management processes are useful. At times the book is quite amusing, which helps with memory retention and makes dense information easy to understand.I don't think any singular book can possibly hold all the information needed for the PMP exam, but I can't imagine studying for it without this book. This will serve as a great reference for years. I also recommend it for anyone working with project managers, as it can benefit any sized business. The quality of material is what I have come to expect from O'REILLY Books. Highly recommend!

Passed PMP on 1st attempt and this book was the foundation (but there is much more needed)
This is an absolute great book to build a foundation of PMP knowledge. I loved the quizzes, activities, and crosswords in each section that helped me to memorize the information. I also quite easily remembered the EV formulas from this book. It just made these complex topics very easy to understand.Having said that, I really don't think you can pass the PMP on this book alone. I used Linked In learning through work, YouTube videos, and as many practice exams & questions I could take to learn. There was much I didn't capture from this book, but it still laid a solid foundation that I don't think the other sources did very well. Highly recommend this book, just don't expect it to be your only study material. Also don't be surprised if you test well on the quizzes/exam in book vs other practice exams. I found the Head First questions were a little easy, and had a gut punch when I got low scores from 1st few practice exams.

Thank you for this book
I got this book in preparation for my PMP exam. Even though I got help from other sources like phone questionnaire apps and study groups, I have to say that this book was my primary source for studying. It has everything you need to prepare: very clear explanations in each chapter, a quiz at the end of every chapter and two emulated exams that you can take whenever you want. And i got to say: I passed the exam on the first try!

Easy to digest
I passed on my first try using this book.I originally bought the PMBOK 6th edition naively believing that if I could read the book, then I would be ready for the exam. After 6 weeks of trying to read the PMBOK I realized I learned absolutely nothing. I had to do something else or I would fail the exam. I was not keen on attending a PMP boot camp for $1000-2000. I decided to buy a PMP for dummies like book and stumbled across Head First series.I decided to take a chance and boy I am glad that I did. Because I am straight from central casting for people with ADHD, this book was perfect. It has pictures, exercises, games, and fun examples to help hammer home the principles of PMP (especially the calculation for cost section). It was easy to digest the concepts and made the material a little less intimidating than what I found in the PMBOK.This book isn’t perfect. It has some grammatical and print errors. Also, it covers only 85-90% of the PMP material. The questions fair on the too easy side. I would recommend that if you purchase this book, buy another book with a lot of practice questions. The key to passing the exam is the material and understanding how PMI wants you to think about how to answer a question. For understanding the material, this is a good book, but practice quiz/exam questions, look somewhere else.

This is a Must-Have to Prepare for the PMP Exam
I was recommended the Head First PMP book by the project manager on my team at work. He'd used an earlier version for his PMP exam. I had access to the book on Safari online, but I decided to go ahead and get the physical book too. I'm glad I did. This is not a typical study guide. The authors know how dry the PMBOK is, so they make a conscious effort to liven it up, and make learning a little more fun. They begin the book explaining the reason for the format, down to specific fonts. They designed this book for learning from the ground up.I used the practice test and the chapter quizzes from this book, and the practice tests from the course I took to meet the educational requirements for the exam. The questions in this book were far more relevant, and I found myself studying primarily from this book. I took the last couple of weeks before the exam pretty easy, and started using the quizzes again the week before the test. I passed on the first attempt.Hopefully they'll release a new version once the PMP exam changes in the next few months. I'd recommend the Head First PMP book to anyone preparing for the exam. The series will be my first choice if I decide to earn any more certifications.

Passed the test with this book
This book is really great. I feel like I actually learned what I needed to know. It broke things down in a work book style and made much more sense than the pmbok. I don't even think the pmbok is needed once you have this. I studied with this book 5 days in a row before my test and passed. I highly recommend it for your PMP knowledge and the practice tests at each chapter really solidified learning
