Polk Audio OWM3 Review (For Surround and ATMOS)
I love the Polk Audio OWM3 speaker for my use-case which is Home Theater surround and ATMOS. They sound great but I also love how versatile they are. They are only 4 inches deep with multiple mounting options. You can mount in a corner of the wall or wall/ceiling or flat on the wall or mount on a ¼-20 threaded speaker mount. I use 4 of them for ATMOS heights, 2 more for side-surrounds, and 2 more for back surrounds. I cross them over at 80Hz and they handle it with no problems. (Mains are towers + a 10” powered subwoofer). The OWM3 sound is smooth and clear with good dispersion. They put out plenty of volume without distortion and can handle a reasonable output without issues. The OWM3 is not for bass thunder. You need a subwoofer that’s just a fact. That’s true for any bookshelf speaker. Sound aside, the best part the OWM3 is so easy to mount in so many ways. You have key-hole mounts on the back and end plus a ¼-20 threaded mounting hole. I use all these options in different locations. I bought my 1st pair of OWM3’s back in 2019 and recently added several more to complete my ATMOS 7.1.4 setup. No regrets. I would buy more if I had a need for them.

Bang for Buck Surround Speakers
I purchased these to use as surround speakers in my "home theater" which is just a smallish 12'x12' living room. Because my couch is up against the back wall and I have some other furniture and room layout constraints I was looking for speakers that came with a variety of mounting options, which is how I found these. When I saw tons of reviews online and YouTube singing this speaker's praises as not only versatile and flexible but also as having excellent sound I decided to pull the trigger.Pros:Excellent sound quality for the moneyDetailed but not fatiguingEasy to mount in so many different positionsSimple and unobtrusive design styleIf your setup requires a "go anywhere, do anything" workhorse speaker these are perfectCons:Not much bass - these CAN function as front speakers but you will definitely need a subwoofer.I think these speakers are perfect for someone who wants to add surrounds or height channels or who is dealing with a tricky space and needs a speaker they can place just about anywhere. They wouldn't get the job done for ME personally as the fronts in a system for stereo music listening; they're a bit thin and not incredibly nuanced, but for immersion and ambience to pull you into a sonic landscape, these speakers most definitely punch above their weight class.

great sounding speakers
I needed speakers I could tuck into a ceiling corner inside my boat. These worked out perfectly and look great. I did need to buy mounting brackets. The sound is really good. There is plenty of range and surprisingly very good base. They are plenty loud even though these are 8 ohm speakers installed on a 4 ohm Garmin marine sound system. I use them mostly for music, but I do blue tooth my TV to the sound system sometimes.

Very flexible surround or "B" speakers
4.5 stars.I purchased a pair of these in mid 2010 to use as "zone B" speakers in our bedroom, and they have worked very well. In fact, they worked so well that I decided to buy a 2nd and 3rd pair to use in our office and bathroom. And if we move someday, these could easily be re-used as surround or rear speakers in a 5.1 or 7.1 home theatre system. Here's what I like about them...STYLISH: the curved design is very modern and stylish. They are prominently displayed on the walls in our office and bedroom, but because they're attractive and white, they don't detract from the decor of the rooms. In fact in my opinion they add to it. This is unlike big black boxy speakers, which in my opinion, rarely look good when displayed in a room without being part of a home theatre system. My only complaint, and the reason for the 4 stars, is that they didn't design a notch in the back of the speaker for the speaker wire to run when mounting the speaker flat against a wall. Due to this, the speaker won't truly mount perfectly flat against a wall because of the wire being between the wall and it. You could get around this issue if you have the speaker wires protruding from the wall at a point BELOW the back base of the speaker. Since the front of the speaker is about twice as high top to bottom as the back base, you wouldn't see the speaker wire protruding from the wall when viewing the speakers from the front. You would however notice it when viewing the speakers from the side. This is why I decided that a less-than-pefectly-flat wall mount was the better option. This is a nitpicky critique, but one that could have easily been solved with a little more forethought by Polk Audio.FLEXIBLE: they put a lot of thought into the design of these speakers. they can be mounted flat to a wall, or in a 90-degree corner such as where two walls come together, or where the wall and the ceiling come together. There's also a stand on which you can place the speakers if you want to set them on a table or something.EASY INSTALL: The speaker wire connection points are easier to use than many of the speakers I've used in the past. And the instructions and hardware for mounting the speakers to the wall is very straight forward.SOUND: For the type, size, and cost, these speakers produce crisp, rich, and full sound, with decent bass. You shouldn't have illusions that these speakers can compete with a system that has built-in subwoofers; and I wouldn't use these as front speakers in a home theatre system. But for what I'm using them for, they're perfect.

Using them for a keyboard as nearfield 2.0 speakers. They sound great!
People have written endless reviews on these things about how well they work in 5.1 setups, or other surround sound configurations. Even the few I read that were using them alone were using them with a sub. I was frustrated with the lack of reviews on how well they would work in a nearfield configuration. In my case, by themselves with a Yamaha MOXF8 keyboard.I recently got rid of my standup piano in the main room and decided to migrate my MOXF8 in to replace it. To make it easy for the rest of the family to use it, I decided to set up dedicated speakers for it as well as to keep some headphones handy as an option. The speakers were to be set right behind the keyboard on the wall on either side, so they are only a few feet way from whoever is playing the keyboard.I've been using them for a while now, and I can say that they are really working out very well. The speakers do fine as nearfield speakers for this kind of application, and they really sound fantastic. There's no booming base to fill the room, but that's not what I bought them for. They are clean and clear sounding, and have impressed me in how good they make the keyboard sound. As nearfield speakers, there is enough base to realistically reproduce most of the keyboard output, and as a result I am very happy with my purchase. They are not "studio" speakers, but that's not what I bought them for.As a note: for those who are not familiar with them, studio speakers are not intended to sound fantastic. They are intended to very accurately represent the sound so that someone who is producing music for a wider audience can fine tune the sound. HiFi speakers actually color the output a bit in a way that is pleasing to the ear. These are not studio speakers. I just wanted to mention that as the MOXF8 is frequently used by people who would actually prefer studio speakers, but that is not what I have it set up for.

Awesome for sides, rear and ATMOS!!
I bought these before Christmas last year thinking I would have my system up an running then. Well that didn't happen. My biggest complaint with these speakers is there is no mounting hardware. I had to search hi and low to find the proper mounting hardware in the right color. I chose white. Polk if you are reading this, either include the mounting hard ware or at least have it available for your customers. I called polk and the were less than helpful. So make sure you are prepared to supply your own hardware. I can't take a star off for that because that has nothing to do with the sound. These sound AMAZING! I have a 7.4.2 System so they don't need to have any bass. I got TONS of that. These are not designed to be front mains or center channel speakers so do NOT use them for that. They are designed to be mounted on the ceiling or on the side walls or even the rear wall. For that they work great. I finally got my system up and running properly and boy they sound great. Whether you are using DOLBY ATMOS or DTS-X they just fill the room with sound. In fact I am using them with my AVM60 listening to youtube and they even sound fantastic with that! I seriously don't think you can go wrong with these. And hey it's Polk Audio so you know they sound good. I guess if you turn off the subs you could say they sound tinny, but why would you run them without bass? I really don't think that a valid comment. When set up properly running with either speakers front speakers with full range (like I have) or subs they pair nicely. I use the OLD AR9's for fronts and the klipsch 500 for the center channel. So to that end they pair nicely. I am an audiophile and a musician. Take it from me if you buy these to make your home theater better, you won't be disappointed. Just don't use them for what they are NOT intended.

I really like these... very nice and aesthetically pleasing....
I have never had a Polk product I didn't like. Starting in 1994 with my first pair of car speakers and tweeters I started to see a difference in sound quality and I have noticed that quality continue. I used everything from Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood, and the like and usually found Polk to be just about as solid as any of those if not more so.These OWM3 speakers are no exception. It is mind boggling to me how these sound so good. The picture makes them look tiny, but they are not tiny. The size is about 10 or 11" tall Id guess and about 7" wide. They are heavy... They are designed to be mounted in a lot of different positions and they come with great stands if you don't want to hang them. For surround, these speakers are amazing. The quality is great. I was scared with some of the critical reviews saying they were tinny and lacked bass, etc... Well let me say that they sound great to me for one, and for another, surround speakers aren't for bass anyway. These would be good bookshelf speakers for a small system as well. The parts are quality and these can take a lot of power and abuse. I know you aren't supposed to put speakers near other sensitive electronics, but mine are right by my router, roku, wii u, computer monitor, tv and blu ray player and they all work just fine. Not sure if these are shielded or not, but its nice to have things play nice with other things. For a surround system, these are perfect. I run 5.1 system and these are my surrounds. The sound from my system pairs beautifully with these.

Super reasonable priced good sounding and mountable anywhere.
They look and sound great. Got them as front surround speakers on a Sony 7.1 system. When I picked up the box and it had decent weight to it, that was my first indication of some quality. After I got them wired up, we'll I am sold.

High Performance Speakers Value For Money
I bought this pair as satellite rear speakers for my 5.1 surrounds sound. I impressed with the sound produce as compared to other satellite speakers. On top of the sound performance, I love the wooden enclosure and the weight, which is heavier than many other satellite speakers.

Invisible sound
Fast, efficient delivery. Installed to speakers in master bedroom and dressing room (4 speakers in total). Mounted them on the wall near the ceiling. It's like to sound emanates from above as they are sleek and almost invisible. Very pleased and great sound quality.

Perfect for surround sound speakers
Perfect for surround sound speakers. The sound is clear and precise. I wouldn't use it as a main speaker because there's really not much bass, but for a surround speaker, it's perfect.
