Excellent Sound Quality
Number one: make sure you have a decent regulated power supply.This CD player has bags of detail and dynamics with its built in DAC but I have experimented with other DACs - all SMSL DACs costing more than this CD player. The built in DAC is surprisingly good - in fact good enough unless you're system is a super high revealing audiophile set-up in which case a high end DAC and using this player purely as a transport will reap further benefits.Build quality is extremely good for the price. The case feels like solid. aluminium with a small but very clear readout. Headphone out sound quality is very useable but used as a CD player or transport is where (for me) this unit shines.

Quality CD player at a great price
Finally, a quality, reasonably priced CD player. Can't hear any disc noise when operating and it has a clear mini LCD screen for track number and time. Sounds great with its internal DAC but I'm using the Coax output and an external DAC to squeeze out a bit more detail. No need for my old display-less DVD player any more!Note: It doesn't come with a power supply and needs a 5v, 2.4amp one (it connects with USB-C and has USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to regular USB cables in the box). A great buy.
