Better than expected!
Arrived really fast, the blower works much better than I expected, the rheostat is great, can adjust from barely any blast to enough to blow the coals out of your firepot, motor runs smoothly with little vibration, has vents on the side directing air over the motor so it'll likely run cool. I'll be putting the forge together in the next day or two, so don't have any pictures but it will work well for sure,Fell free to ask any questions after then. Rather have a hand cranked blower but this is as good for a third or less the price. Very pleased with this purchase! If you're on the fence about whether this will work for you, IT WORKS! Fan has 6 blades balanced well and close to the sides of the housing, comparable with much more expensive blowers with more than enough output for forge welding to a small fire to make tiny scrolls.

Motor OK, Variable speed control not so much
Motor works great. Variable speed controller shuts down after a while and has to cool down to work again

Motor quickly burnt out
On our 4th use the motor smoked and burned out. Had maybe 10hrs of use.

Works better than expected.... eh read update
It pushes alot of air i had to put a gate for the air to be released as the fire would melt my steel if not watched, also a new fire pot had to be put in as well that was heavier constuction. Works great tho it is a cheaper blower so idk how long it will last tho even if the motor dies i have a industial fan moror thats a 3rd hp in case that would happen. Works good tho. It has a sticker that says copper construction wich is a lie. Its casted aluminum. Wich is fine. Its better than a rat cage blower by far. I woul suggest a gate for any type of forge gas or solid fuel. Update Been 2 months motor died... had to rebuild it with a better motor. Wemt from 1.6 amp to 1/3 hp . Had this back up motor for years waiting for repurposing industrial fan motor its 3 times the size as the original hehe UPGRADE and im droping the stars to 2 do to a crappy casting fan blade unbalanced. Probly what killes the motor

High quality, emits A LOT of air. Works perfect for my coal burning black smith forge

Decent unit, but not perfect.
Seems to be a lightweight, powerful blower. I set it up and tested it briefly, and it will definitely be a powerful forge blower, however, I do have some concerns. The first concern is the light weight. Now I realize that this is a selling point for the unit, but generally light weight in an item like this screams shoddy craftsmanship to me. I hope, and believe that I will be proven wrong here. The more pressing concern for me is the way it works with the speed controller, and the fact that is is not grounded. It would not have added that much to the cost of this unit to ground it. When I plug it in with the speed controller, and try to start it, it wont. I have to manually move the blower, (with a small peice of wood), to get it to go. If I plug it in directly, it will start, but it is a task for the motor to get going. Overall, I think it is a decent little unit, but could have had included a motor starting capacitor on the motor side of things.

Blower ok, Controller dead
Blower works, speed controller does not. Blower is noisy due to one blade being out of alignment. Also have an old hand crank blower on another forge, much better quality.

MUST BUY!
I love this blower! I was skeptical at first. But I made a quick forced air manifold for my freon bottle sized forge. I used 2" and 1-1 /2" pipe, and for the flame end a 1-1/2" - 3/4" reducer. Worked amazingly well (forge welding heat) I then fabricated a new nozzle out of stainless... whoa! What a difference in heat out put. I highly recommend!
