No top safety rail with normal mattress
We love the bed but…. Take note of the top rail. It is 13”. We have a 12” mattress. I don’t think we can let our grandchildren sleep up there which defeats the purpose for us. Appears to be very sturdy and it looks good. Not sure about usefulness.

Great bed for the price. Quiet!
This is such a great bunk for my 7 year old. He loves the top bunk! The unit doesn’t make much noise which is great! Did take some time to put together but wouldn’t say it’s ikea level! Great purchase! We are happy!
