Children can’t ingest/drink the paddling pool water when this is in it.
I received these today and reading all the small print on the back has gob smacked me..It states never to allow children to drink the paddling pool water (near impossibility with small children), that not to let the product enter ground level as it’s hazardous to drinking water even in small quantities. It’s toxic to fish, the list goes on...I am returning these as I couldn’t use it safely as friends small children always drink the paddling pool water plus my St Bernard’s have their own pool which I was going to use the 2nd one for and there is absolutely no way I would risk using this in either pool.

The Perils of using this product.
I purchased two packs of this water treatment, with the hope that our pool would stay clean while my husband and I were on holiday for two weeks. We followed all the instructions correctly, using one of the packs and went away happy that it would be all right. Two weeks later, on our return, we discovered that all was not well as the water had turned a nasty shade of green - which showed even through the pool cover. We were forced to empty the pool, get rid of the 'contaminated' water and refill it. We did not use the second pack, we were so cross, and we went and got proper water treatment granules containing chlorine. These have a worked a treat and we now test the water regularly. It is now problem-free. I would discourage anyone from buying the Kiddy-Safe Water Treatment, as it is not fit for purpose. It is marketed as being safe for kids, but it isn't. Chlorine is essentially a disinfectant which kills any bacteria present in the water, which is why public pools are treated with it. It isn't actually harmful either, unless you drank gallons of it. It can cause eye and throat irritation if ingested in this way. In conclusion, I believe that the description of the product was misleading, as it did not 'treat'' the pool for two weeks, as stated and was a waste of money.

Is what it says
Chlorine free OK, but contained other chemicals which were even more toxic and disposal of unwanted fluid has to be handled by experts. Thankfully I read the instructions and warnings before I opened the kit.

Clear water and no slippery pool sides
If you want to reduce the number of times you refill your pool and don't like the look of cloudy water and the feel of slippery / slimy sides as algae starts to grow, then this product is simple and effective. I looked at other chemical treatments but they seemed to need regular testing whereas you just add this and our water has stayed clear for a week now. It is a chemical solution (see photo of back of packet) but does not contain chlorine and our children's skin has been fine. Adults should carefully open the packet to pour it into the pool - and the warning to not drink pool water is good advice even if no chemicals have been added!

Good but overpriced
Overpriced for what they are but seemed to keep the water cleaner for longer
