TV's are defective and broken
I had purchased a TV from this vendor and upon arrival, everything seemed perfect, and the tv was installed and functional for 3.5 months, unfortunately just over the 90-day warranty policy on which a 80" flat screen TV of this price shouldn't be defective.... My screen has shown broken LED pixels creating red bars down the center of the screen. VIPOUTLET has refused to accept that this TV is non-refundable. And I hope I can work this out as a trusted buyer.... this defect shouldn't happen. no fault or foul was implemented in the internal defect of this machine. Now it seems I could be stuck with a $2,300 paper weight..... Please assist if possible in this situation. I am a trusted A/V engineer and this is absurd.

Great for the price
Got a floor model from Costco for $1,5K about a year ago and it has been awesome for a home entertainment device. The screen is huge and it does change your experience completely for gaming and couch movies compared to 46" I had before. Picture quality is pretty good. There are TVs with better HDR out there, but HDR is noticeable here and adds flavor to the content.Smart features are OK. It supports casting from my phone and that's all I need, really. Netflix is spot on. I also have xbox connected to the TV and it's quite good for gaming. Yes, there's more lag than on a PC, but it's quite OK for any game I want to play with it.

Very good customer service a very bad product
I purchased this tv on 5/26/18 the tv at first plug in gave me problem took a while to get a internet connection once I did it worked fine for about 3 weeks then the tv would just turn off in the middle of watching Netflix or Amazon prime or whatever we were watching on smartcast then stop working completely not long after that started then tv sound had a lot of static using the volume on the tv it self so called vizio (customer service was very good ) troubleshoot the tv anyway 45 minutes later they said will send you a replacement so about approximately 2 weeks later the tv come the company that brought the tv did not even want to stay long enough to see if the tv worked so that was terrible. so plugged in tv and everything went fine internet connected fine the first time no issues this was around July 10 and not even a month later the wife was watching tv in the livingroom/ familyroom and I walked out of the bedroom and smell like a burning smell like wires burning / plastic burning the first thing I thought was something fell in the dishwasher checked not it then as I got closer to the tv the smell got stronger so I went to unplug the tv and as I went to unplug a big puff and smoke came out of top of the tv not kidding. this was around 9:30 at night so the next day was Wednesday August 8th when I got home from work called vizio again nice customer service the guy told me he was sorry that that had happened and they would take care of it give 24 to 48 hours if you do not hear from anyone call back so friday august 10th called back they said we did not get the info anyway the lady I spoke to in the department said that were completely sold out of the P -series TVs not just the model I had but all models so end result they said will send my money back which is fine but it will take 4 to 6 weeks for me to get the money back that for me is the problem now I have to wait that long before I can go buy a tv very very disappointed in vizio and will never ever buy there product again!!!!

Stunning picture, UI and remote, MEH
Bought 5 days ago, literally breathtaking picture. Bright, crisp, solid blacks and colors.Easy setup, wireless has been solid.Where it really falls short is the UI and the remote are really bad. The remote buttons are really small and there is very little differentiation to feel your way around the remote in a dim room and it's full of sharp edges. Feels really cheap in your hand, I find myself preferring the remote from my 4 year old Vizio. The picture and audio setup is fine, where it really sucks is the ap menu. The AP UI is horrible, you must scroll through all 20 or so apps EVERY TIME if you want one of the apps at the end of line. There is a good selection of apps and Pluto is included which is nice. The audio out from this thing is breathtaking as well, YouTube audio is better than my PC and movies sound amazing. Can't comment on the internal speakers as this is going into my main sound system (Yamaha and Klipsch RF7) which has never sounded better. The audio from this really caught me by surprise, it is quite good. All in all I don't regret the purchase but the cons are a little bit of a letdown to be honest.

Love It So Far
So after the panel on my 1080p Sharp Aquos started to go, I started doing research on 4k TV's. After fairly substantial reading I felt that for the quality/cost combination this was the TV I should get. CNET has the M series as the Editors Choice (which is the model just below the P) but with double the dimming zones I felt the P model was the way to go. Having full array backlit instead of edge lit was a big factor for me, which is standard in Vizio TV's. The only thing I wasn't sure about was the metallic frame instead of the usual black but once I had it out of the box and on the stand it wasn't really a factor. The frame is thin on the face (about a 1/2 an inch) So after the fairly lengthy setup procedure, I adjusted the picture to the Dark Calibration setting (as per rtings.com) and upped the brightness a bit and that was it. The picture is excellent. I'm happy I never considered a 65" because this thing is more than big enough. I sit about 10' from the screen. My old Sharp was 46" and this is substantially bigger. As far as the sound goes, it's ok but for a decent home theater experience you're going to want at least a sound bar. Now all I need is an upconverting Blu-ray player to play files via USB as 4k content is still fairly sparse, even on Netflix. According to what I read, a USB drive has to be formatted to FAT32 to be played via the on board USB port, which as many of you probably know, only allows for files sized under 4 GB so 1080p movie files would be out of the question to be loaded onto it.EDIT - So Vizio must have used a firmware update to make it possible to use a NTFS formatted USB stick because I tried it and it worked. What doesn't work though, is a file with DTS sound. The video plays but there is no sound so you would have to convert the file to AAC audio.Looks like I'll still be getting an upconverting Blu-ray player.

Great picture quality, defective unit
I bought this TV because it was on sale and read reviews that it has great picture quality for its price range. I'm not a TV enthusiast but to me the picture definitely did look great; 4K is crisp and colors are vibrant.Unfortunately, the unit I received is defective. I don't know if it's a hardware or software issue, or if it's just my unit but I had problems right out of the box. Several times the TV would freeze while navigating menus. Other times it would inexplicably turn itself off. On the second day of using the TV I decided to factory reset it in hopes it would fix the problems - the TV froze during the SETUP menu. Yes, it froze as I was SETTING UP the TV - to be exact, it froze right after the part where I assigned a name to the TV for smartcasting. You can't blame this on any third party app, the TV literally froze while I was in the initial steps of setting it up - this is a Vizio problem. At the same time, the TV would still turn itself off, as if power was cut off. I thought perhaps my power bar was faulty, so I plugged in a lamp to the same power bar and turned it on. When the TV shut itself off again the lamp remained on - the power was fine, the TV just doesn't like to stay on.Another issue I had was casting videos from youtube. If I cast a video directly from youtube, the video would load forever and never play - I would have to try playing a different video and it would work. Basically, casting the first video never works, every video I play afterwards is fine. Not sure if this is a youtube problem or Vizio - very annoying.I've contacted customer support regarding this and I've only received the same old non-answers of power cycling the TV or factory resetting it. Customer support was friendly but really I am not in the business of dealing with this only a few days after getting a brand new TV. Seems like Vizio doesn't know what is wrong with my unit either and with that I have no idea whether or not any new units I get would suffer from the same problems.I spent the effort having wall mounted the TV; now I can look forward to the drudgery that is taking it down, repackaging it and shipping it back to amazon - a truly horrible experience. I hope other owners have better luck because it's not fun repackaging and dealing with a cumbersome 55" TV. I'll try a different TV.

Great TV. Can't beat it for the price
Great TV. Can't beat it for the price. Don't let the fact that it is an IPS panel dissuade you from the 55 inch model. Blacks are very deep, colours vivid and HDR is fantastic. Cannot wait to plug my Xbox One X into it given how great the PS4's simulated 4K already looks.

VIZIO Warranty Support Horrible
I have used this TV every day for 8 months. One day the TV went BLACK and then the image returned. Since that day I have had artifacting when I use 4K modes of this TV with the same device I have been using for months. When I contacted VIZIO they told me that the TV is not meany to be used as a computer monitor, and there will be no warranty action.I am not happy, and if you have been seeing the hype around this TV being a monitor, be sure to understand that VIZIO has horrible support. Many, many emails and hours spent on trying to resolve this issue, has been frustrating. BE WEARY!
