Review: Fantastic deal - Incredible deal. I almost knocked it down a point for the black pickup ring. Matching Gibson standards chrome hardware should have a Cream pickup rings. The black just looks off with the pick guard. I had to order cream pickup rings. That is a minor issue. The frets needed polished and the neck needed a very minor adjustment. It was perfectly playable out of the box. Tuners and knobs all work great. Bridge pickup came in at 8.8 , neck around 8.2. Ceramic pickups actually sound very nice. No real changes needed. I just polished the frets. Adjust the neck one slight tweak, oiled the fretboard and lowered the action a hair. Plays like a dream. Beautiful guitar. I see no cosmetic issues with the finish. Small pots but seem quality and work great. Despite people’s complaints with small pots a quality small pot is fine if the sweep is good and it works well. It’s just a variable resistor after all. I generally prefer a classic alnico humbucker but these actually sound nice.
Review: Well worth it! Incredible for the price. - For the price, it is well worth it. I don't absolutely need another guitar per se, but this guitar has some features I have always wanted, but are difficult and expensive to find. In fact I was considering a doing my own custom build just to get these 3 features in a LP style: 1) Neck through build, 2) contoured access to upper frets, and 3) belly cut like a strat. Additionally, the body is mohagany. The guitar has weight, feels like a guitar, not a cheap toy. Doesn't look like one either. Of course they have to save some money somewhere, so the electronics aren't going to be top notch. Nevermind the fact that the entire guitar costs about the same as -one- Bare Knuckle pickup. Just being usable at this price is crazy, and the fact that it is comfortable and playable strait out of the box? How do they do it? Fret ends are smooth, there is absolutely zero fret sprout, no cracks in the finish along the joints, finish is perfect, and it looks nice too. I only recieved it today, so I can't tell you about tuning stability, that will take a few days, but I think there might be 2 sticky slots on the nut, easy fix. Nut appears to be bone and not cheap plastic so, a shot of lube should fix it 100%. If it was plastic I would prob replace it. The controls are surprisingly useful. Most of the time my guitars have tone control at 0 or 10, but this one is useful for mid-taper. What do I not like? First of all I have to qualify my critique. The guitar is absolutely a great deal and I have no complaints. This guitar is well worth the price. Heres what you get that isn't pro, which you should not be expecting (and won't find) at this price point anyway: The sound is great for jazz/blues/country/soft rock/indie, but for hard rock/metal (ie bridge pickup only) you will need a stompbox to get the edgy-ness you want. Obv you will be using FX anyway right? The toggle switch needed tightening, and personally I don't like the green faux vintage tuner knobs, but that is a purely cosmetic thing, nothing actually wrong with it. The frets are nickel steel. I prefer stainless, but I'm not sure I can find SS frets on a $200 guitar, and even if I did, it wouldn't have the other features this Fesley has. I will do a pro setup on it later, and probably some upgrades. Like I said, it is great out of the box and doesn't need anything, but if I want to upgrade things like pickups, tuners, pots and tone caps, this guitar is a worthy recipient of them. I wouldn't be throwing my money away if I put a set of JB's in it. Bottom line, if someone has complaints about shortcomings of this Fesley for $200, then they should probably not be playing guitar. Personally, I am thinking seriously about buying a second one, and there is a pretty good chance I will do my first guitar review video on this one. Update: I did in fact purchase a second one. Even if I replaced every single component in this guitar, it would still be worth it just for the neck & body. Don't listen to other complaints about hardware. If you want a good playable guitar, this is it. It is good out of the box, and if you upgrade or replace hardware later, you will not be wasting your money. #icanstopbuyingguitarsanytimeIwant. #ijustdontwantto

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ FLP-900. Neck Feels Good and Stable Tuning, but Beware of the Inlays.
*by A***R on January 11, 2026*

The Fesley FLP 900 required very little setup and felt like a much more expensive guitar right out of the box (except for the pickup selector switch that was damaged in shipping). However the cheap resin filled inlays used by manufacturers to reduce cost was a dealbreaker. THE GOOD > OUT OF THE BOX SETUP: I was impressed that it needed almost no setup. The frets were level, polished, there were no high spots, and I didn't find any sharp "fret sprout" on the edges. NECK AND FINGERBOARD: The neck is on the chunkier side but very comfortable to play. It has a real wood fingerboard, which feels like quality under the fingers compared to the synthetic materials found in many budget guitars like this. TUNING STABILITY: Tuners of course are not premium but better than expected. I let the guitar sit for a week and it was still pretty much in tune when I picked it back up. This says a lot about how well constructed the instrument is. THE NOT SO GOOD AND UNEXPECTED > UPPER FRET ACCESS: If you are buying this primarily for the cutaway access to reach the higher frets, don't bother. The design doesn't actually provide the clearance needed to reach the top frets easily. It's more of a gimmick but it does reduce the weight. (Mine was 7.1 lbs. But every guitar will be different because some pieces of natural wood are denser than others.) The gentle curves make it slightly more comfortable at the higher frets but you still need to contort your hand to reach notes just like on any traditional single cutaway Les Paul. INLAY DURABILITY: After only a couple of hours of playing, the inlays began to show wear only under the high B and E strings where I do a lot of bending and vibrato. (See picture.) Instead of durable hard acrylic plastic that I expected on even the cheapest of guitars, this beautiful instrument has inlays that appear to be a soft poured resin. (Research "problems with resin filled guitar inlays".) ELECTRONICS / SPECS: The pickups have a decent output and sound ok. I measured them with a multimeter: Bridge Pickup: 9.26k ohms Neck Pickup: 8.68k ohms RECOMMENDATIONS > 1. The Fesley FLP-350 has beautiful dot in dot real inlays that you normally see on high end guitars. It's also one lb lighter making it more comfortable. It has the similar curves on the body like the FLP+900 except the neck is bolted on. Real wood purpleheart fretboard feels better the more I play it. However expect to spend a lot of money for setup unless you do it yourself. Other than setup, a lot of care went into making the FLP350. Sounds good too whether it's plugged in or not. 2. You might also try the Grote Les Paul. I don't have one, but I have 3 other Grote guitars that are very well made. Grote says they've been around since 1989. There's also a Grote Facebook page. It's not very popular but members seem to like their instruments. One guy has a blue Grote Les Paul that he raves about. Personally I have too many guitars. I'll wait for a used Epiphone if I find a crazy good deal on one some day. NOTE: The inlays were a dealbreaker. I returned the guitar. I had it for about 3 weeks.
