As a long-time home barista and espresso enthusiast, I’ve gone through quite a few tampers in my search for the perfect cup, and after using the MHW-3BOMBER Espresso Tamper (58.35mm) for several weeks now, I can confidently say this is one of the best tampers I’ve ever owned – and easily the most precise. The build quality is excellent, with a solid, nicely weighted base that’s finished in a sleek matte black coating, which not only looks modern and professional but also resists fingerprints far better than polished metal. It fits my 58mm VST basket with near-perfect precision, allowing for a level and even tamp every single time. The handle is both ergonomic and stylish, combining the weight of metal with the natural look of wood, making it feel comfortable and balanced in hand, even during back-to-back shots. Since I started using this tamper, my espresso has noticeably improved – richer crema, more even extractions, and far less channeling, which tells me the consistency is exactly where it needs to be. It’s a very thoughtfully designed tool, and the overall experience feels premium right down to the packaging, which was simple but elegant.

This is a great tamper. The click is very satisfying and give you clear audible and haptic feedback when you have properly tamped your espresso.

Despite the product description, this tamper does NOT have an audible signal when you reach the correct tamping pressure. Also, it appears to have been previously used, so it’s going back for a replacement. It has a nice feel and shape, so I’m giving them a second chance. We’ll see.(Update)Second time’s the charm! Receiving the replacement confirmed the original one was indeed used and defective. Package was also missing the replacement spring. The new one works great! Smooth, even tamp with an audible signal. Has a really nice heft and feel. Upped my review to 4 stars, deducting one for shipping out a used product initially and making me go through the hassle of returning it. Takeaway: look over your purchases carefully! If something seems off or sketchy, it probably is. Return it and get it replaced.

All there products are great

I love the physical feedback of the click after you've pressed it down. So often, I have over tamped my espresso grounds. This gives you the perfect amount of even pressure every time on a consistent basis. And, with espresso brewing, consistency is paramount! Aside from the usefulness of this, it is also just a gorgeous piece. It is heavy and the materials are all very high quality. I love the walnut handle. The only thing that has me perplexed is the inclusion of an additional spring. I thought that maybe it was a back up, but I've taken the whole thing apart and this spring doesn't seem to fit or take the place of any existing spring. Some clarification on how the extra spring should be or could be used would be great, because the instruction manual doesn't give it any context.
