The instructions (pdf) are available online which is very helpful because you can find out a lot about the product before you buy it. Also, the instructions are well written in proper English. Recording starts automatically as soon as you turn the body cam on. Other functions (turning on the lights, opening the menu, etc.) take getting used to at first which I suppose is normal for most products which do not have a keyboard or touchscreen. It is helpful that you can turn off the password if you don't need it. I have tried it as a dashboard cam using the remote camera that comes with it (I put a simple elastic band around the (thick) rearview mirror and attached the remote camera with the clip to the elastic band). The recordings in the car (with the remote cam) were good enough for a dashcam during daylight and at night (at least when viewed on the body cam screen). It works well using the infrared lights. However I don't know what the range of the infrared lighting is. The body cam connects without problems to a Windows 10 PC but you have to enter the password. I only received the product yesterday but so far it has exceeded expectations. The only negative is that I have not found a way to turn off all of the notification sounds (i.e. when the camera is turned on).
