Great to see on dark material!!
Works great for the darker materials that I use. I'm no longer limited to white and pale colors. This is especially important for the reds, greens and other dark colors I decorate with for Christmas.

Terrific tool for working on dark fabric.
Terrific little tool for working on dark fabric. White markings fade on their own over time or are easily rubbed out with a damp washcloth.

Didn't work well on satin black material
Purchased this for a project using black satin material. First of all, when I initially used it, the tip fell off and about 3/4 of an inch of the pencil came out. I sharpened it for a while until I was able to use it and realized that it wasn't leaving a mark on my material. I really had to go over it several times before I could see anything show up on the material. The cost of this was not worth dealing with a return

Not impressed
Construction is poorly made. Lead is way too soft and breaks far to easily. While it does mark well, the constant breaking and re-sharpening are a complete turn off. I WILL not be ordering this again.

It works! but it breaks easily
It really works on dark fabric and the cool part is that you can erase the trace after. however, the point is not that thin and it breaks easily while using the pencil sharpener.

I should have read the reviews first
As someone else noted- this is NOT a transfer pencil. It is just a white pencil, which might come in handy for many projects, but not the one for which I purchased it. This is the manufacturer's fault, for misleading labeling- the word *transfer* implies that the image will be transferred, not just drawn or traced. It's also my fault for not reading the reviews first, to see that this pencil (which, again, will work fine for just drawing on dark fabric) is not the tool I thought I was ordering.

Read description carefully
My mistake, but this is NOT a heat transfer pencil, just a tracing pencil. Tip is very hard, have to press really hard to get it show up on fabric which can shift the fabric and stencil around. Nice that sharpener is included.
