I actually look forward to using this tool for my orchard and overgrown shrubs! It’s light, efficient, powerful, versatile and the battery (s) life is several hours. I bought a battery pole saw five or six years ago from a different manufacturer and it performed well with the exception of the single supplied battery. It was not possible to get another spare and the unit just quit recently. New batteries are greatly improved now and even charge much faster. This setup is wonderful with an extra battery, chain, bar, bar cover and even a carrying case. Even if I just get a few years use out of this saw it will be a great value for the $. Makes all the minor trimming I have to do annually quick and easy. Limits my time on a ladder. Very little leakage with the bar oil reservoir, my other was awful. My only criticism is the instructions. Although I think every effort was made by the supplier I think doing instructions to a different language would be a problem for me also. It appears the chain must be fed bar oil manually by pressing the push button on the top and it’s not automatic like all other chain saws I have or have used. Chain seems to run dry often but time will tell. They supply contact info that I seldom ever get around to however. Great buy regardless. Glad I found this battery tool to add to my collection of battery tools that are so easy to use.

I never thought I'd say it was a joy to use a chain saw. This little thing rocks. Light, powerful, long battery life. My first session with this was about 5.5 hours on and off, mostly on. Except for felling the tree (9.5x12" oval at the cut), and then cutting the trunk, every other cut was made with this little 6" blade. (when you see the little 6" bar, you may think you will be disappointed...you will not) The big cuts were made with a horrible Ryobi saw, but was big enough to cut the trunk. Battery dies per each 7-10 minutes of use. Meanwhile this little Jovant plugged away for the entire 5.5 hours on one battery (maybe 1 hour total break time...for the saw...not for me...in 95 degree/100% humidity...not for me...for the saw.) This tree was about 28-32' tall, maybe 20' diameter foliage. I cut more of the leafy twigs/branches off than necessary because...it was just fun to use. Just smoothly slices through it all - the little 3/4" - 1" sticks, up to the (larger than recommended) 3" - 6" diameter branches you see in the second photo. Before felling the tree, I cut the lower branches with the pole attachment, which also works flawlessly. A couple days later, I cut a bunch of low hanging branches so I can get under with my tractor/bush hog - maybe 2 to 2.5 truckloads full - oaks, sweetgums, etc, all with the pole attachment...a couple times with it extended to max length. It is a bit more touchy, because you have the weight of the pole on the saw, so it may seem to bog or bind. That is you, needing to hone your technique...not the saw. Let the saw do the work. With the pole attached you may need to focus on keeping weight OFF the saw, and don't twist your wrist. Once you do that, it works perfectly. Its so nice to use, you can forget to push the bulb to keep the chain and bar lubed. Don't forget...push the bulb to keep the chain and bar lubed. Check the oil level regularly, and of course, keep some chain oil on hand. It doesn't seem to leak oil when stored(as does the aforementioned Ryobi) as long as you keep it oriented "upright" such that you can read the oil level thru the see through site glass (plastic). Also, this nor any small saw can cut well thru spanish moss...it just wraps around the blade, bunches up, and one time, made the chain slip off the bar. Again, my bad...but the thing is easy to take apart, remove the moss, reassemble) So, move the moss outta the way before making your cuts. For stuff on the ground with spanish moss where I need to cut, I just keep my machete in left hand, chain saw in right. If its about 1" or less, just machete-whack it (keep yer machete sharp). If its more, I use the machete to move/cut the moss away, then cut w/chainsaw. Its more efficient, plus you feel like bad, bad LeRoy Brown wielding both those things in the sweltering heat. Just be careful of where your arms and legs are as relates to path of saw and blade, of course. Admittedly, only about 8 hours total on it, but it still performs as new. We'll see if it holds up as well as a real Makita, but so far, for the price, (even regardless of price) far exceeded my expectations. I don't normally "fan boy" out on a product like this, but absolutely recommend without reservation.

I decided to buy one to trim my 20-25 ft maple tree. I like the fact that it’s battery operated which is so light, compared to the gas powered one I rented at Home Depot before which was very heavy and hard to use. It comes complete in a vinyl case: a retractable pole, cutter with chainsaw, 2 rechargeable lithium batteries, a charger, a small bottle of lubricating oil, and a replacement chain. It cuts easily on branches up to 3 inches. But it works okay for thicker branches, except that the chain will bind and becomes loose more often when you attach the cutter onto the retractable pole. Other than that, it’s working fine, easy to use, and versatile.

Great pole saw , cuts through 4” oak like a hot knife through butter , it’s well made and easy to use , at full extension it takes a little practice, as it will kick a little till you find the sweet spot but then it’s very effective, some people mention an oil seepage problem, I haven’t had an issue , the battery life is excellent, I used the saw for around four hrs and it was still going , all in all a great purchase, and great value for money.

Works like a charm. Easy to operate and cuts like butter. Not too heavy for this senior lady.
