Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition (32 GB) without ads, an Amazon Plant Based Cover and a Made for Amazon Wireless Charging Dock

I’m very pleased with this Kindle Coloursoft bundle, picked up during Amazon's Spring Deals, and bringing the price of the 32GB device down to £166 - less than the RRP on a 16GB Paperwhite. I would have bought the cover anyway, so it wasn't much of a reach to add the charging base. The Coloursoft device itself is great. I wasn't initially sure about the 7” size (it's been years since I last treated myself to a Kindle, and they were all smaller), finding it less book-like than my old Kindle. But by simple dint of playing with the customisation I managed to find a setup that I’m happy with. I've always been a fan of a Kindle as a lightweight, easy way to transport an entire library's worth of books around in my pocket, and this one is no exception. Even if the pocket needs to be slightly larger! There are masses of customisable options, including light/dark setup for reading; screen brightness and light warmth; margin width (this was the one that enabled me to make the page setup seem more like the width of a paperback - it not doing so was something that had bothered me more than the actual screen size); font style and size; plus more. Although the device has a colour screen, the colours are muted: soft, and pastel style. I have a Remarkable PaperPro Move writing tablet, and the colour palette is very similar to the colours available on that, so I feel this gave me a good idea of what to expect. A lot of the time, when reading ordinary novels you would forget that this is a colour device, although bookmarks and highlights are offered in a selection of colours, and chapter numbering tends to appear as blue links. When the device goes into sleep mode, the screensavers are all full colour, and this displays book covers and links in colour too. The case is decent. It's a slim fitting case with a fabric outer and a fairly hard plastic tray at the back for the device to fit into. The fit is, of course, exemplary. Auto wake/sleep function as they should. The charging base came as a slight surprise as I hadn't realised from the bundle that it wasn't an Amazon accessory, but made by Anker. They're a brand whose products I have had good experiences with so I wasn't unhappy with the discovery. The wireless charging is easy and straightforward, and makes a welcome change from having another device to swap over onto my USB-C cables! All in all, very satisfied with my new Kindle and its accessories.
