I had been looking for something to drain tuna. I have a family of four so when we make tuna salad for sandwiches it 5 large cans. I’ve used the traditional strainers but they are a lot of work and don’t always get all the water out. This is perfect and sooo easy. I definitely would recommend it because I love it.!

I am not sure where I originally found out to use a ricer for mashed potatoes, but I got this one to try it out based on the reviews. I echo all these high ratings! I thought for sure I would need more strength to push the lever down, but it really is so easy to use! It makes "mashed" potatoes so smooth with minimal effort. I don't ever think I'll go back to hand mashing (unless I'm looking for a more rustic mash of course). I haven't tried it yet, but you could make all sorts of mashes and veggie rices with this tool. But let's be honest, mashed potatoes is the main use! My only real grievance is that it became discolored after running through the dishwasher. I have hard water, and suspect this is the cause, but wanted to note in case that mattered to someone. I still will put in the dishwasher because I think it would be too much of a pain to hand wash.

My best friend has used a ricer for years and loves hers, so I decided I was going to try one for myself, and seeing this on Amazon/Vine, ordered it. After arrival, I washed it up, and tonight gave it its first try making mashed potatoes. I am glad to report that, using the medium disc in the ricer, I had fluffy, smooth mashed potatoes with little effort on my part, and the riced potatoes mixed so easily with the butter and milk, for wonderful mashed potatoes. My next use of this wonderful new kitchen gadget will be to make guacamole; I can't wait to enjoy that! This isn't a cheap kitchen gizmo, but it built to last for years with proper care, and with the 3 discs available to give you a choice of texture, you will be using it for many things!
