Ancient symbols still speaking to us today
Another great book by Dr. Garr! I have been giving this book as a gift since 2008 and people love it! This book brings to life those ancient objects and symbols rich with meaning for both Jew and Gentile! The Menorah calls out for purity and unity. The cup taken at Passover...Yeshua, Jesus, instruction to accept His proposal and remember Him. The Mezuzah is truly a sign at the door that the Lord is our protector while the Scripture inside decrees our faith in the One true God. This book also helps guide our hearts toward respect for the things of God...our eyes to see God in each article as a unique expression of Him and helps bend our hearts toward our Jewish brethren as He chose to reveal to them each piece and its purpose as outlined by God. Its as if Dr. Garr makes the articles wake up and speak! This is one book I give as a gift over and over again!

John D. Garr wrote a passionate, sonorous, and detailed book about ancient symbols and emblems. Our tendency is to become amative of these symbols or ignore them altogether. John D. Garr helps the reader put them in their proper perspective and provides deeper insights into their purpose and the hope embedded within them.

Emblems
I enjoyed this book as it brought to life the meaning behind Judaic items that are seen and usually taken for granted or rejected by the church as something for the Jews. The author gives a clear definition describing the biblical and historic reasoning behind these objects and how they relate to Christians as much as Jews.

A good helper.
For those of us who are learning what Sh'aul teaches us of one new man, this is a helper in understanding some of that which big brother Judah has to teach.
