Review: Must have for a pumpkin unit! - I purchased this book for a pumpkin unit in my Pre-K classroom, and I couldn't be happier with the results. It's an absolute must-have for early childhood educators looking to incorporate genuine learning into a fun, seasonal theme. The depth of educational content in the book is fantastic. It goes beyond simple surface observations, providing a surprising amount of learning that was perfectly digestible for this age group. My students were introduced to concepts that built their vocabulary and understanding of the natural world. The key to its success in the classroom, however, was the visuals. The book uses real, high-quality photographs instead of illustrations. This distinction is vital for Pre-K students as it helps them connect the information directly to the real pumpkins we were exploring. The authentic pictures kept them completely engaged and focused from beginning to end. If you are looking for a resource that is both factual and captivating for your youngest learners, this book is an outstanding choice. Highly recommended for any classroom or home library focusing on nature and science themes. Review: Review of the Seed, Sprout, Pumpkin, Pie book - The Book review: Awesome pictures and text. This is pefect for our fall study and makes it very real and relatable. It is not just a synopsis of the cycle of seed to pumpkin. It has pictures that most children have never seen, cows eating left over pumpkin, pumpkin fields strewn with pumpkins, pumpkin mountains. It is a very fun read and great fodder for discussion.

Great fall book!
I thought that this book was really informative and held my 6 year old daughter's interest. The pictures are beautiful and when we went pumpkin picking she quoted facts from the book. I also bought the book "Apples" which is done the same way as this. I love both books and think they are a must have for fall!!

Outstanding series by National Geographic
All of these National Geographic books are great and you cannot go wrong for the price. They have beautiful photography and make learning come alive for kids. Both my five year old and seven year old love these books and we bring them out as the seasons change to help illustrate what is going on in our own back yard. Your child will not even know he/she is learning!
