Bought to wear under a dress for a wedding. Bought XL as I’m a size 16. Comfortable and fits well holding tummy in. Comes almost up to bra so hope holds more in!

I ordered these control knickers in a 3XL but wasn't entirely sure that they would fit as the sizing chart is a bit off & doesn't exactly correspond to UK sizes. A 3XL is listed as waist 38.5 - 41.3 inches (98 - 105 cm) & hip 45.2 - 46.8 inches (115 - 119 cm) - this equates to a UK 20/22 waist but a UK 24/26 hip.I generally wear a 22/24 so hoped for the best & was surprised that the fit is not too bad.On smaller sizes, they will have more of an impact but when you get to my size, you can't expect miracles. The description states that they have a tummy tuck effect but that's a bit of an over-exaggeration & they really just smooth over the lumps & bumps to give a slightly more streamlined effect.The knickers are very high waisted & this could be a problem for those with a shorter torso but I can just about get away with it if I'm not sitting or bending too much, otherwise they have a tendency to roll down a bit.There is a cotton gusset in the knickers but it's not very long so if you're prone to being affected by nylon knickers then I would recommend that you wear a pair of thin cotton knickers underneath or maybe an appropriate liner.They are a comparable price with similar products available & I wouldn't say that they are any better or worse than others I've tried. It's a case of buying an appropriate product that targets the bits you need help with depending on the outfit you are wearing. For me, I would aim to wear these with trousers as I have some longer leg, shorts style which I would wear with a skirt or dress.

As my headline says, I made a mistake when I ordered these and ordered a size too small. I admit they were then a bit of a struggle to get into. But once in, with everything tucked away, I was astonished by how comfortable they were. I could imagine wearing even this too-small pair all day without discomfort. So I didn’t return them but ordered the size up and have kept these ones in the (perhaps vain!) hope that, contrary to a life’s experiences I may be able to shed a (good) few pounds so that they eventually become the right size.But I felt confident that the right size for me now, when it arrived, would be even more comfortable but still do a great job and pulling me in where I need it but without constricting me elsewhere.
