If you've got enough room in your freezer to store this thing perfectly level (upside down) for a few hours, you can get pretty good rolled ice cream at home. The next step up is probably a $600-3000 antigriddle, so $27 ain't bad.There's a learning curve, but it isn't as steep as everyone makes it out to be. I think the biggest problem, as several other reviewers can attest to, is the flimsy spatulas that come with this kit. I wish I could find sturdier ones on Amazon without just buying another kit, I'm not sure how safe it is to use any of the metal options on this surface.That said, it's a very fun toy, and with some trial and error, the rolled ice cream is delicious and fun. There's better recipes online to play with, and you can get good results by pre-chilling your mixture in the fridge before use.

This kid comes with everything you need including all the tools. The only thing you need are the ingredients to make it. It does take a bit long for it to freeze for the first time however it is very fun and quick to make the ice cream.

This small kit is perfect for making ice cream treats at home for the family. You can do rolled ice cream, gelatos or sorbets. Simply take your favorite cold drinks add fruits, cookies, syrups etc.The kit comes with 2 spatulas and 6 cookie cutter shapes. The only noise I notice is when the coolant is thawed. (If you hear this noise, your plate needs to be frozen more) There was mention of a straw being included but there wasn’t one in my box. It’s not something that you have to have so it’s fine.Great for family gatherings, birthday parties.

It's a fun little party trick occasionally, but because the "cold" energy is zapped fairly quickly, this is only going to work in small batches for 1-2 people. Make sure you freeze it "upside down", otherwise the thermal material inside will not provide enough to even freeze one batch. The recipes included are poorly translated and include vague units, but you can likely mix up something that will work. Overall, it's fun, if impractical.

My daughter and I use the tray for when we make chocolate cover strawberries and chocolate pretzels.The tray is good for keeping the chocolate chill. Easy to use and clean.

This rolled ice cream maker is more of a novelty appliance, imo. It works, but there’s a definite learning curve. I found that the plate doesn’t stay cold for long enough to really make this worth using. It’s fun for 2-4 people to enjoy a serving, and in a larger group, it’s ok for offering samples. Limited instructions and recipes are included, but there’s plenty of info/videos online.

It needs to stay colder for a longer amount of time. It's effective for a few minutes but what happens is that the friction from the spatulas pushing the ice cream causes the rolled ice cream maker to quickly thaw. You have to move pretty quick. With practice I can make about two or three more in a short period of time before it unfreezes.
