These are 30" and 500 spine. They SHOULD be fine for 35-50lb recurve bows. I shoot a #40 recurve with no problem. They are only good for up to 40lbs on a compound bow though. A compound bow 40 - 55lbs needs a 400 spine, 55-70 needs 350 spine, etc. **Q: How much does the tip weigh?** A: Measuring 3 field tips on a postal scale, it is 6 grams each which converted to grains is approximately 92.6 grains. **Q: I just bout a brand new hunting compound bow can I shoot these straight out or the package?** A: Compound bows usually need shorter length shafts for better performance (around 28 inch but depends on your draw length) although these will still work fine. These are also probably a bit light spined for a compound bow. Compounds have much higher draw weight then recurve and need stiffer arrow shafts because of that. **Q: Are these ok for hunting? I use these for practice with an old Indian Stalker Compound Bow with a 55lbs draw weight. I know, the manufacturer knows, and you will soon know that these aren't the greatest arrows you can purchase. That isn't a condemnation of the arrows or even necessarily a fault because I knew what I was buying ahead of time. These are cheap arrows, but they are well-made cheap arrows. As you can see in the attached picture, I have nailed the pieces of wood along the perimeter of my target. Many times. None of them have broken from nailing the wood. On ones that went particularly deep, I have had that cores come out, but that is an easy fix with a little bit of adhesive. I did crack two of them when my shot when too low and I struck the cinder blocks the target was resting on, but that was my own fault, not the fault of the arrows. Prior to these, I had purchased a decent set of Easton arrows and I can tell the difference between the two. These arrows are larger than my Easton arrows that are rated as being the same, namely a difference in weight with these being slightly heavier. Not sure how much it affects anything, but it is noticeable. I also can't say for sure that the 500-grain spec is actually true as I am not an expert in archery. I have only just recently picked up the hobby and am learning as I go. Between the two, I much prefer my Easton arrows, but that does not mean I don't like these arrows. For the price, you can't really go wrong with buying arrows from Tiger Archery. For the same price, I bought only 6 Easton arrows. Yeah, you can tell there is a difference between the two, but I have shot these arrows hundreds of times so far and have to say that I am pretty happy with the purchase. If you are a beginner and looking for arrows that you can freely practice with without worrying that you are going to destroy an expensive set, these are the arrows for you. I have put these through the wringer and so far I have only put one or two out of commission. Consider these a stepping stone on your journey to becoming a better archer. As you skill with the bow increases, so should your quality of arrows.
