An Exceptional Product
I bought this keyboard for my gaming pc, not wanting to spend too much money but still wanted a decent mechanical keyboard. It is amazing. The keyboard features Blue Switches that give the keyboard a very tactile feel with a clear actuation point that I consider perfect for gaming. Although the switches are knock-offs of the renounded Cherry MX Blues, they perform very similarly. The keyboard also boasts RGB lighting effects. The keyboard does not have software allowing the user to change the effects and colour of the keys, so the set up can take a little longer to configure, though the process is simple enough. The 18 lighting effects, most of which can have the colour adjusted, are extremely good. The keyboard can adjust brightness, colour, effect and direction and is reasonably bright for a keyboard of this price. The keyboard has rubber grips that are extremely effective at preventing movement of the keyboard and has hinges that can raise to provide extra height at the back. The keyboard also has media keys that are integrated into the 12 function keys along the top of the keyboard and has a windows lock function to prevent disruptions whilst gaming. In summary, for a £50 keyboard, this product well exceeded my expectations of it. The key switches are a dream despite being clones of Cherry MX Blues, the lighting has numerous options with a lot of customisation, the build quality is superb and the cable, despite not being braided, is long, thick and gold-plated. A great buy for both gamers and typists alike. I highly recommend.

My 2nd Mech KBD
Received on 26 Mar 2021:The first mechanical KBD I had was the original master that is the IBM but that broke long ago during a flood. The Redragon K551 VARA is great works perfectly and you can feel the build quality. The weight of it is also another plus as I get excited with games and tend to push the KBD away from me but not with this. The only real problem I have is that the software is in Spanish and I had to go to a GitHub repo to download an English "skin", Seriously! Why is there no English version of the app? With that in mind you can guarantee there is no linux version and probably no Mac version either.Gripes aside this is a great keyboard well worth the money.UPDATE-27/8/21:This keyboard is still going fine and has been used heavily ever since I received it back on 26 Mar, I'm considering changing the switches but need to fully investigate that.I've read a lot of negative reviews about this keyboard online and one trait shines through on most is that they "think" or "Assume" most of the positive reviews are because redragon or a reseller sent out the keyboard in order to facilitate a positive review. I can assure the reader this is not the case with me and I never use that system. This is an honest purchase with an honest purchase.UPDATE-11/03/2023:This is a workhorse! No issues at all after nearly 2 full years. If anything it has received even more usage as I now work from home 2 days a week and during lock down I was fully working from home so I'm really surprised this is still going strong.Glad to hear this brand is getting more exposure.I am considering changing the switches if possible to quiet ones.

The Redragon K551 RGB gets a 10/10 for me.
What a keyboard! The RGB backlighting is niceand bright and easy to see even in a lit room. The 18 diffrent effects are fantastic and look great, I love how the LEDs can also make pastel coulrs aswell its very cool. The key switches are VERY nice, clicky and tactile Otemu Blues (cherryMX clones) and sound great. With a nice long travel for heavy typers like me.With some key dampeners fitted the keyboardsounds great, the click of the key switches is still there but there is no clatter of the keys hitting the backplate after actuation. Which to me makes it more pleasing. Its a delight to type on, due to theclicky tactile switches, I can tell even without looking at thescreen or keyboard when i miss type, as two switches click instead of just one. Its a little difficult with my wristrest now but practise makes perfect!Gaming, is, a dream on theis keyboard. Because i am slightly OCD I like hearing the key switches in the background of my gaming videos. Its very Nerd3ish and I like it. Makes my veiwers feel part of whats happening so I am told so thats all good :)Theres a few keys that are slightly clanky even with o rings on them, namely the spacebar but thats just me.My P key is wonky, theactual switchis crooked for some reason but it dosnt affect the performance of the keyboard so im not that worried. All in all then, for the the price its very very good. The last keyboard of mine was also 50 pounds, and that is nowhere near the high qaulity of this keyboard!!The Redragon K551 Vara RGB gets a 10/10 from me :)

First time Mechanical Keyboard.
And it did not disappoint! Not sure what I was in for coming fresh into this market, but this has delivered well beyond my own basic expectations. The sounds and feel is great, can really feel that you have committed to whatever action in-game when you press a button with the blue switches.Have not experienced any noticeable key wobble anywhere and everything is easy to remove and replace. The box states that the switches are interchangeable but others have said they are welded on so I'm not sure right now.Having set the keys to fade out after the initial press also has a great visual look without being overbearing to the eyes.Having a metal face plate adds to the build quality and gives it a nice hefty feeling. My only real gripe is the audible ting you get when pressing keys and it meets the plate, although I'm sure that can be addressed on my own end with rubber rings or such. For the price, this is more than worth what you are getting!

Very loud
Very sturdy keyboard and lots of RGB optionsVery tall, needs a wrist rest to be used comfortablyBlue switches are loud, and the bigger keys (bakspace, enter, ...) feel a bit mushierCame with defective [H] key, but customer support was very good about itAll around decent mechanical keyboard for the money I guess
