Gorgeous Romantic Shabby Chic Book!
Beautiful coffee table book plus I love reading about Texas, where I lived first 6 years of my life and still have family living there! I find Rachel's story so interesting and romantic how she put together this lovely home on the prairie! Definitely a book worth owning, and I love her shabby chic style. I dream of having my own shabby chic place someday and this book has lot's of great ideas!

Texas style beauty from Rachel Ashwell to feast my eyes on!
Definitely one of my new favorite books in my (large) home library. I’ve been dragging it all over town for little moments of extra beauty as I’m waiting for my kids as they do this and that. Makes my time running the mom taxi that much more enjoyable!I saw that others complained about it being a “plug” for her bed and breakfast, but I guess I don’t get their complaint. I wanted it for decorating inspiration, and it’s providing plenty of that! I love her style even more as it’s mixed with the Texas rusticity and color palette, and this book shows how she brilliantly merged all of those things together. I’ve also loved reading the story behind it all, because who doesn’t like story?! It’s interesting to see how she suddenly decided to buy it and all that she decided to do with it as she went along. It has made me want to stay at The Prairie one day, but I definitely don’t see any crime in a book creating a desire like that. I’m so thankful she put all of this into print and pictures for us. It’s ended up being my favorite book of hers yet!

Love the Inspiration!
I have always loved the books from Rachel Ashwell, simply because they're beautiful. While I can't say that I would decorate my home entirely in her style, I love it for the ideas it gives me on how to use what I already have, how to use pieces to create focal points in my home, and how to reuse things that, at least on the surface, seem to have lost their original usefulness. I love many elements of her style, and enjoy putting my own small twists on them to utilize in my home. I feel that taking elements of Rachel's Shabby Chic style and personalizing them a bit to fit effortlessly into my home has greatly added to the beauty and comfort of my home.

great book
one of the most beautiful books. gives me ideas and inspirations. soothing texts and pictures. whenever i want to relax i turn to this book. this book is a bit less exciting compared to the other rachel ashwell books. perhaps because it documents a hotel and not a home.

Really, a gorgeous book
I know this book is a soft sell for Rachel Ashwell's The Prairie in Round Top, Texas, but I am glad it is. I have been wanting to see more photos, besides those on her website and in a previous book. The sumptuous scenes not only draw one into to this gentle, humbly genteel world, but they also give me many ideas for my own desert/prairie home. As a shabby little cowgirl, this book inspires me to stay true to expressing my love of the faded and rusty, spare and clean, worn and well-loved - in creamy whites, grays, and dusty pastels. It helps to balance my mucky boots, calloused hands, hay-strewn hair, and sun-kissed skin, while staying true to my own aesthetic. This is an ecologically sustainable design style that honors and recycles the beautiful, experienced object, and gracefully counters the disposable society.

Thank heaven for women like Rachel
I'm a huge fan of Rachel Ashwell & have all her books & use many of her ideas. Her eye for beauty, her inventiveness & creativity are amazing. She has followed in the footsteps of other women designers & decorators from across the pond with her floral fabrics & feminine outlook but her talents are her own. It's strange that American women don't seem interested in that field. Maybe the feminists have taken away the things that made women so unique: the graciousness, sincerity, sentimentality, romance and ladylike behavior is not so evident anymore. Between them and the popular culture it's gotten really ugly out there.I'm so glad there is someone like Ms. Ashwell to remind us of our femininity, even in faded jeans & a cowboy hat & boots.

Love love love this one!
I have all of Rachel Ashwell's books and this one is a bit different from the others. Newer content and a great read, amazing photography and love what she has done with her ranch in Texas! Absolutely love the slipcovers and cushions in this book. Very inspirational for a sewer.

Swoon Worthy..
As a huge fan of Rachel and the Shabby Chic movement, I'd have to say that this is my favourite book- so far! Yes, it's still the Shabby Chic look we've all come to love, but with that wonderful farmhouse look thrown in. Combine pretty floral vintage dishes with that prairie dust, add in the beloved linen and your cowgirl boots and call it "home". I've gleaned many small ideas from this book to add comfort and beauty to our little home. It's a treasure if a book.
