Solidly made. The ledge to set a book on is plenty wide that it can handle a larger, thicker book. If using a thinner book, the ledge can be pushed up so the metal rod pushes against the pages to hold it open. Even the rope through the handle is thick, giving it a more well-made look than a thin cord would. The recipe on the board is a sweet message to appreciate a friend. It makes a great gift and even comes packaged for gift giving with shredded tissue paper on the bottom of the box.

What a cute recipe book stand! Cute saying, my sister will love it as a gift from my kids. Feels sturdy enough to hold up a decent size cookbook. You have to assemble the little wire in the front (in other words, it’s removable if you’ve got a really thick cookbook), and I had to pull in it a bit to get it to fit in the holes, but once I got that it slid right in. Very cute, I’m sure she’ll love it!
