Shark PowerDetect Corded Stick Vacuum Cleaner, Dark Teal HZ4000UKT, 0.3L

I bought one for my mother and it was so good I had to buy one for myself. It's easy to use - we have joint or mobility problems and can still easily use it, and press a switch and it can glide flexibly under furniture (although it needs a little strength to get it back into upright afterwards). The suction power is fantastic - we were horrified at how much dirt it was pulling out of the carpets! This means lots of trips to the bin, as it's a small unit, but the emptying mechanism is easy. The suction is so strong it can pull forwards slightly so needs a little strength to pull it back but it's no problem for our joints. The transition between carpet and tiles is instant. Classy teal colour. Only downside for us is that it doesn't stand on it's own unless you lean it securely against something or press a switch to fold it in half, which makes it a little bulky to store in comparison with a stick vacuum. We would prefer this than a stick you have to charge though, as this is good to go whenever and for however long you want.

Absolutely brilliant Hoover. I had a shark lift away several years ago and it was wonderful. Best Hoover Ive had. But sadly packed up after a few years. I bought this one so I didn’t have to keep lugging the heavy Miele upstairs and wanted one with an attachment for the stairs. It’s great. It’s lightweight. Love how it folds to store it. I have dogs so the air freshner is an added bonus. I love the stair attachment. So easy to use and therefore I can frequently clean. The only downside ( if I had to say) is the dust storage compartment gets filled very quickly. But I will take that. Love how the hair doesn’t get wrapped around brushes as well. Great value for money. Feels very sturdy and I’m hoping it will last a while. Shark have done it again. Well done. Don’t hesitate to buy this. Mob and arrived within 24 hours which I wasn’t expecting and packaged superbly.

Fabulous machine. Super suction practically runs itself. Changed to this as by big shark a bit heavy for me. So easy to use. Dust container seems small but once it has done it job I imagine waste will get smaller. I have to dogs so ideal for pet hair.

Just bought this Shark to replace a cordless Vax (I have has 2 Vax's). I have found cordless vacuums to be less than adaquate, their suction is much reduced, and power to clean carpets is not as great. The Shark however is a much better cleaner, it glides easily over hardwood and carpet changing automatically and clean very well, also it does have a scent pod which is nice, but not essential. The only drawback is the cord, its very stiff and not easy to wind back on for storage. That said its still 100% better than the cordless. Its well made and robust, i like the ability to clean under furniture and use as a hand set. Its noticable that its picking up more, and also very easy to empty

I love shark vacuums this was purchased to replace an older heavier shark. It is very easy to use and as it's corded no need to worry about the battery running out whilst vacuuming the house. One of the reasons I bought it was for cleaning under the beds, this vacuum makes it easy and having lights on the front are a great help in dark spaces. If you have to stop vacuuming you just press a button and the vacuum folds in half and is very stable and won't fall over. It was good value as it was purchased at a reduced price. The dust removal is easy the only downside is that it has a small dust cup so if you are doing a lot of vacuuming you will need to empty it more often which is a small niggle, I just bring a bin liner with me and empty as and when I need to. The air freshner leaves a lovely fresh aroma as you vacuum. I would highly recommend this product

The Shark PowerDetect corded stick vacuum is absolutely brilliant. The suction is powerful, it glides easily across floors, and the PowerDetect feature adjusts perfectly to different surfaces. Lightweight, easy to handle, and great for a quick clean or a full tidy — a fantastic vacuum overall.

I purchased this Shark stick vacuum, having searched for a lightweight vacuum. It has some very positive reviews and a current TV advertising campaign. I was very surprised at how heavy it was (6.8KG/15 lbs). I assembled it, thinking that perhaps it would feel more manageable put together... it wasn't. Just trying to move it was an effort and the length of the stick was almost as high as my floor lamp shade. It also didn't stand up on its own and I had to find somewhere to lean it! Of course, it's horses for courses. If I was 30 years younger, I would probably have been chomping at the bit to try it out. As it was, I was chomping at the bit to dismantle it and send it back!... and I was back to my search for a lightweight vacuum. I was surprised to read that any vacuum 15lbs or under is considered lightweight. As an aside, if anyone is reading through reviews, looking for that option, I have just bought a GTech and it is perfect. Really light, stands on its own, very good performance, including picking up hair. Downside, if you have stairs there are no attachments.

This corded Shark PowerDetect Stick Vacuum Cleaner is excellent. Recommended by Which, it picks dust up better than my previous vacuum, it’s easy to empty, very manoeuvrable, has a long cord, comes with attachments. It’s easy to move - in fact when you switch it on it takes off - less effort to push around. It can stand by itself if you fold it down. It comes apart to become hand held or to use with smaller stair/upholstery attachment but I prefer using it for carpets/hard floors, able to plug in and do several rooms because the cord is so generous.
