Does exactly what it says on the tin. It is accurate and perfect for getting what you need. Both buttons function as intended, storing the highest value on one button and the other giving you a continous readout of the rotations. Be aware though, it won't recognise multiple blades on the turbine.waht ever is spinning, so you will have to factor that it, obviously.

I bought this instrument to calibrate the speed of my lathe fitted with a VSD. Easy to operate with clear results shown. The job was finished in a 1/2 hour.A tip for affixing the measurement target stickers: Clean the surface on which the sticker is fixed with cellulose thinners beforehand.

Performed exactly as described. Only negative is the battery that came with the unit was flat and had to replace. No other issues. Tested on various equipment and reading a very accurate

I work at a calibration company and decided to see how good this little device would be and I was pleasantly surprised. As you can see from the results, it's near on perfect , highly recommend. When taking the measurements make sure your getting the receiver logo in the top right or your results won't be accurate

Let's start by the cons: 1) it uses one 9v prismatic battery and that means when we need it is always dead... Simple solution is to disconnect the battery when not in use, but... We live in 2023! They must choose better energy solutions for their product 2) the reflective stickers... They don't stick! My solution is simple: stick it to it a piece of "3M Scotch Carpet tape extra strong"; it's a sort of ultra strong double tape mesh. The pro: it works, I tried it on my lathe and DeWalt drill and the values (considering the age of the lathe) are more or less in line with their specifications; unfortunately I have no other precision instrument to test its accuracy and repeatability. Finally the price: it's fine for the class of the instrument. Usable to have an idea about the speed of your machines but if you need an exact, accurate and repeatable reading be prepared to spend a lot more and buy a higher class instrument.

We were called in to sort a disaster left by another contractor on commercial catering job, clients kitchen not extracting, moist, humid, stuffy. Client reported they took 3 days to wire new fan right so it didn't keep throwing overload breaker.We had measured current, seemed low for top speed, speed controller knob wreck by previous contractor so before condemning the fan wanted to check rpm. Order this, accessed the fan and placed reflector on each fan , started fans and tacho indicated fans only running at 1/2 max speed.Back to auto transformer controllers, bypassed controllers and re measured the fan rpm, fan back at full speed, saved client a fortune as they were going to buy new fans, replaced both auto transformers with inverter drives to reduce electric bills, improved power factor correction.As I said did exactly what it said it would do.Reflector strips included in pack with carrying case, good to keep it all together with items and instructions.
