Great filter
I bought this to build a 5g bucket filter for my fish quarantine tank. I have yet to build it but placed this under my koi pond waterfall to test the capture and flow it can handle. with about a third of the waterfall it was processing over 1000gph with minimal back up. With my QT only running a few hundred gallons per hour this will be a simple easy upgrade to that set up.

Great depending on use
HDPE is considered resistant to most acids under normal conditions. Either this isn’t actually HDPE or the surface area lends it to degrade over night to 30% nitric. Literature suggests 50% nitric should last a month or better.

Great for yogurt but
I use this for Greek style yogurt making . After making a gallon of yogurt, place the strainer in a large mixing bowl and scoop in the yogurt. Wrap the whole thing with plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour. After an hour carefully put the strainer on a plate and drain the bowl. Place it back in the refrigerator over night. The extra steps are well worth it. Really firms things up. Clean up is easy. I would have given it a higher rating but it is pretty flimsy and a little hard to handle when full. A gallon would be the most I would make at one time.

The strainer feels a little lightweight. I was initially concerned it would tear, but so far it has held up to repeated use.

Shows a bucket but doesn't come with one.
Yes, the description says it does not include the bucket but why put one in the picture??? I read that no bucket was included but I bought the strainer because I needed it. The strainer itself is made of very thin and flimsy plastic. It works but I don't think it's going to last very long. I'm prepared to purchase another brand as soon as this one fails.
