Excellent electronic security lock
With the kids always losing their keys we were looking for something a bit more security conscious for our back door so we ordered this Wheelock electronic security lock from the Amazon vine testing program. The lock comes extremely well packagedy was not damaged upon delivery. The box is a one-time only box with a warning that it if it is opened do not resell it which is good for security. So the electronic itself all comes made up and comes with the instructions and the tools to use it with.Fist off you have to fit three AAA batteries that are not supplied into the electronic lock which I found a little bit fiddly but was not a problem.Once you fit the batteries are then download a d app and configured it all as per the instructions and the app which was not too difficult but once again a little bit fiddly. As it is a security lock I won't divulge too much information on instructions on this review but I will say although at first the instructions seem a little overwhelming they are actually quite easy to follow. Are then installed it into my door and I will say although they suggested takes 25 minutes it took me round about an hour to get this installed and up and running. You can either use a key combination or the electronic key cards to open it although on reflection these are just as easy to lose as a key.Once installed I didn't really think that that the lock was particularly pleasing to the eye and although it worked absolutely perfectly me at my wife decided we didn't like it and took it off. That is just our own personal preference as this electronic block is absolutely brilliant if it's the kindest thing that you want to have. But once again when I thought about it it's actually a bit of a paint to use rather than just a key so this wasn't really for us in the end, and it doesn't look particularly very nice. This review is a bit Critical but I have to review it on my own personal experience. If this is the kind of thing you really need then I think it and could work a treat for you and is very good value for money as it does the job and works and absolute treat.

Convenient access
Not quite wanting to have this lock presented on my front door, I decided the best place to install it for convenience and access on the door to my integrated garage. As this entry to the house is commonly used, but also out of sight, it seemed the best place. I did have to buy new door hardware however as my lock plate and handle were not compatible. I paid a carpenter to do the actual fitting, as personally have had issues fitting locks on internal doors such that I would rather not go through that pain again. In operation it works fine. I'm not a big fan of using an app to open my door so we stick to using the tags or code for entry. I like the idea that I could give out a code to guests or house sitters. This would be a good product to use if you ran an airbnb or similar. It runs off AA batteries, but also has a USB charge emergency access. I'm not entirely sure why it isn't fully rechargeable, but it might have something to do with battery life or reliability, which would make sense.Overall build quality is good, it feels like a well made product that will last.

Good for semi-secure doors
This is great, I think the best use-case is for moderate security doors where you don't want a lot of friction, or risk losing the key. So for an office door to keep the kids out, or a shed door. I wouldn't use it on a front or back door personally (unless your garden is already quite secure.)I've put it on our shed, it's great, means I don't have to mess around getting the key and hiding it with the lock padlock.I have been using the keypad option, I have played with the phone options using the app but it's more faff to take my phone out most of the time. But it's useful that it has other options. The app is a bit janky, but I expected that, most off brand IoT devices are.It comes with everything you need to fit it, and if you're a bit handy then it's not too hard.Decent overall

It require manual intervention for lock/unlock
First of all the manual is not the best. The install is very simple and I had to remove the old cylinder and add the one with the smartlock. On the exterior is the fingerprint reader and on interior I had to mount the handle. After mounting at pairing with the app comes the problem. It was asking for a lock modern number. I scanned the code but did not accept it. After some time spent on internet I figure out that the code was printed on the cylinder itself so, I had to take the lock down to read the code. The app is not quite friendly. There are a lot of terms that I could not understand from beginnings and it is not very explanatory.I dropped 2 stars because of the app and because it is not a fully automatic lock. I still have to turn the lock to unlock/lock the door. I could say that it is semi-automatic.Basically after I log with my fingerprint the exterior handle is locking with the cylinder other ways it is spinning without unlocking the door.

So far working brilliantly and at just over £100 it is amazingly well priced
I love the versatility of using a code or one of the provided RF cards even if ideally I would have preferred the cards to be plane and anonymous instead of having a picture of the lock on it. Fitting the lock was very easy and overall looks and feel pretty strong and well made.At the current £110 (after applying the £60 discount code) it is one of the cheapest lock of this type
