Always use the lowest absorbency for your flow and change your tampon every 4 to 8 hours. To insert, use your finger to place the tampon into the vagina, pushing it up until it is fully inserted. The string should remain outside the body for easy removal. Remove the tampon by pulling on the string. Always wash your hands before and after handling. Tampons are associated with toxic shock syndrome (TSS). This is a rare but serious illness that may be fatal. Always read and follow the instructions provided with the product.
Safety Warning
Always remove the tampon before bedtime or after 8 hours of use. Keep your hands clean when handling the tampon. Change your tampon frequently enough to keep from leaking. If you have a fever or think you may have Toxic Shock Syndrome, remove the tampon, call your doctor immediately, and tell your doctor that you are using a tampon.
