This a great value! It's super rigid without being too hard. It's super easy to cut using an exacto knife to ensure a perfect snug fit. It functions perfectly for my use and cradles my items very comfortably. Good buy.

I attached these to the mounting plate on two speaker tripods, which are used to support 100 pound wings of my glider during daily assembly. This foam is just right, in that it is firm, but won't damage the gelcoat under-surface of the wings. I didn't have to cut these down or shape them, so don't know how that would go.

I had a really nice Cressi embossed regulator zip up box that I wanted to convert into a watch case for my Cressi dive watches. I ordered this foam to make slots for my watches and make pillows for the watches. The foam is easy to cut and if you make a mistake you can easily glue the foam back together no problem. I would recommend actually tracing with a colored marker (white would be the best) as dark colors are harder to see against the dark charcoal foam. I used both and exacto and a serrated kitchen steak knife but ended up using only the exacto as it was more accurate. Be careful with the exacto as if you have it extended it tends to curve when you cut so go slow, take less off rather than more.

I don’t know what this thing was intended for but I just use it as a target for throwing knives, shooting arrows at it with my bow n arrow, I shoot my pellet gun at it. It’s fun and holds up pretty well

Use this underneath a sub-woofer and it's perfect density and sound abating so I don't disturb the neighbor underneath me. Works really wetl and has not deteriotated.

Gotta say I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. The foam is sturdy enough I don't think I'll have any issues in that area. Thought it would be a bit challenging to cut out as I didn't want to cut all the way through the foam to the other side. But I was pleasantly surprised how easy it still was. And like I said it all still feels very sturdy.

This is what I wanted. Smooth surface on all edges, right density. Ships boxed, shrink wrapped but not bent.What I purchased from another vendor on Amazon was overpriced, appeared to be either made from seconds/recycled foam sheet, had a rough surface (sharp ridges) and an inconsistent finish. Useless for my purposes. Could be used for packing/shipping/storing items whose finish does not matter. Carefully read reviews and item descriptions between the lines. Especially the foam finish. It is easy to get taken if you do not.

This product is almost always used in some kind of enclosure (box, drawer, case, etc). This foam was supposedly 1.5" thick, so I made two cases 12x12x1.5". When the foam arrived, both pieces were exactly 12" square, but one was 1.5" thick and the other was 1.625" thick, making the second one too thick for the case I built for it. To make matters worse, while the main description says the foam is 1.5" thick, the details column below says the foam it 1.65" thick. It wouldn't be as bad if both pieces had the same thickness, but getting one of each thickness makes one of the cases unusable.If thickness of the foam is important to you, this may not be the foam for you.
