Not as big as I expected, it serves it's role ok but it's not going to be slow to hold larger items, would've sent it back but I couldn't be assed to pack it all up again. Might get a bigger version!

Well built, good metal construction. There are folds 'in the right place' to prevent water ingress from the front, but water will STILL be trapped in the door so might wet post when you open the door. The two mounting holes at the back are NOT protected so I would not use JUST these fixtures to mount it, you need the other 2 bolts, or the ones at the base. You will ALSO need to weatherproof these big holes! I modified my box to add a microswitch and a transmitter that signal the house when someone uses the lid, it was pretty easy to do it's fairly well constructed. Also added a folded metal mesh at the bottom to act as a 'spring' to receive packets, otherwise they just are slammed at the bottom without any protection! Only other small nag is that is is LOUD! Postman dropping the lid can be heard 'quite well' and likely my neighbours are also notified when I get some post! :-)

I've long wanted something like this - the motorcycle top-box wasn't secure and delivery drivers tended to ignore it. However ... while this box is big on the wall and the chute is well designed, it turns out not to be all that big. Many packages probably won't go in there (though some of the big cardboard envelopes now being used can be squished down to fit). The other problem is that, currently - even after 2 months! - most delivery drivers don't actually know what it is. I'm sure they'll come to love it same as I do.

It is most definitely secure despite what other reviewers have written, so don't let security put you off buying. It is also weatherproof from the elements, however rainwater lodges on the top edge of the door so that when the door is opened, standing water on the top edge of the door is thrown into the parcel compartment and this is sufficient to wet the contents of the box. Letters and paper envelopes are most affected. I have overcome this irritating fault by adding a plastic lip that overhangs the top of the door. It should not be necessary to improvise on the design in this manner. I'm perfectly happy with my modified purchase but I feel the manufacturer should address this issue. Another minor issue... the lock needed attention for it to function smoothly.
