Can heat beads be used with this device instead of water?

Hello, do you mean small metal beads such as the Lab Armor™ beads from ThermoFisher Scientific? No, unfortunately our water bath is equipped with a safety measure which turns off the device when no water is present. You could fill the water bath with a small amount of water to prevent this, and add the heat beads on top of this, but you would still need to add water periodically.

can this be used continuously for 3 months at 110 - 115 F or 42-45C?

Yes, this water bath can be used continuously for 3 months at 42-45°C. You just need to periodically add water to the vessel as the water bath will automatically shut down if it is out of water.

Can this be used to melt chocolate?

Not directly. You can only use water to fill the water bath, then you can use a second container floating on top of the water to melt the chocolate.

What size test tube rack will fit in the water bath?

They list the dimensions of the inside as "Internal water vessel dimensions: 6.5x4x4 inches". The one we received measures about 6 inches by 3 inches at the center and about 2 inches wide towards the ends. It's tough to give exact measurements since it is oval shaped.

Great little heater!

I use this small heater at my work lab to heat solutions to specific temperatures for testing. Can heat up to 100C in under 10 minutes. Best to use distilled water in these to prevent calcium buildups.

Perfekt als Babyflaschen Wärmer

Wir verwenden das Wasserbad zum erwärmen und warm halten von Flaschen mit Muttermilch. Es passen fast alle Fläschchen die wir haben rein, nur eines geht sich von der Höhe nicht ganz aus. Die Temperatur wird konstant gehalten und ist somit für den Zweck optimal. Kurz nach dem Einschalten trifft das Gerät nicht immer sofort die Temparatur und ist zwei bis drei Grad wärmer als eingestellt.
