I have used it on small holes (.5 cm .25 inch) on top of existing sealant. I would think you would need to remove old sealant for a run of more than 2cms.

Q: can this sealer be used on both marble and porcelain ?

I'm no expert but I have used it on parts of the shower tray which I believe is porcelai,n and it goes on OK but is easily affected by general cleaning of the tray over time
