Works just fine
Not sure what the problem the other reviewers had with this product but I think it works just fine, especially for the price. While the product description says it's for a wood post, I simply switched out the wood screws provided with a couple of nuts/bolts I had on hand to attach it to my metal post. If you have an extra large mailbox like I do, for additional support, place a thin piece of wood between the mailbox and the post.

Cheaply made, bends too easy with extra large mailbox.
I bought this to attach to the extra large gibralter mailbox... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CSK3RA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Although it does fit all USPS approved mailboxes, as this one is, the material is not strong enough to support this large mailbox without bending, and I certainly would not use just 2 to support this extra large box. I actually bought 2 sets as I knew it would probably need the extra support, but I had to add center screws thru the middle of the box also to screw directly to the wood so the box would not flex when the door is closed. This required additional work as the holes are not recessed enough to have the screw heads flush with the floor of the mailbox. So I had to install a cover for the floor.

Doesn't work with Gilbralter B size mailbox
You would think that if a company makes a universal mounting bracket with adjustable holes it would at least fit all of the size boxes in their range. Not so on this one. I would have to drill out new holes to have it fit the "B" size Gilbralter mailbox. Not only that it the hardware is very flimsy and not at all worth $7. Don't buy! Just go to your local hardware store or Home Depot and you can find general hardware that will work. Or, do like I did and just make a wood platform and screw the box to the platform with stainless steel screws. Solid and will last the life of the box....unlike this kit.

Very small.
Very small brackets. Description states they're rated for up to a "D" class mailbox, but they are far too small and fragile to install my "D" class XL mailbox. They look like they'd be fine for a small/regular sized box. Quick shipping, though.
