So glad I made this purchase
As a consumer and frugal mom I research products before I make a purchase. This was a good purchase. I had been buying the rectangle kid pools which would last two weeks or so. They were only $30. so buying 3 a summer seemed like an okay deal. After thinking about it for a year I purchased this Intex pool and I wish I had done it last year. Great price! Great product! It was incredibly easy to set up although you definitely need 1 or 2 people to help you spread the pool out just prior to and during the addition of water to keep folds out of the bottom. Other than that, it was a breeze! My son and his friends have sooo much fun in this pool and I have enjoyed it too. I grew up with an in-ground pool but am not ready to make that investment because we may be moving. It appears to be very sturdy and manageable. I use the pump during the day for about 8 hours to keep it clean and purchased a water skimmer and chlorine tablets. The tablet floats around in the turtle container I purchased and the pool has stayed crystal clear so the maintenance is minimal. I also purchased the solar cover that I put on at night and the ground cover. All of these items I bought, including replacement filters, from Amazon for $150. Best. Purchase. Ever. Also, I was a bit concerned due to the high volume of people who stated that having a "flat" surface was an issue. We have a large cement area in front of our garage, off the deck and I placed it there, on the ground cover and it's perfect. I'm guessing that if I had placed it on the grass it may have not worked as well, especially since we have some pockets in the yard. I wasn't really interested in putting it on the grass anyway.

Great pool for little ones!
We love this pool! I got it for my 3 and 9 year olds and they both have a blast it is large enough for them to play in and not bump into each other and the depth is just right so that the 9 year old can have fun but its not too deep for the 3 year old. I purchased an inexpensive net and vacuum and have only had to put a floating chlorine tablet holder in to keep the water clean and clear haven't even hooked up the pump yet. I subtracted a star because as the other reviewers state it has to be on a perfectly level surface you can't be off by much less than 1/4" or it slopes and the water will push to one side of the wall I learned this by Having set up and then having to take down and relevel was off by 1/2" other than the level issue though follow the directions and it is easy to set up but I can't reiterate this enough you need a level surface or the pool will not work and be a huge disappointment! Oh and get the solar cover it is worth the $15

Really nice pool. Must be set up in a level area!
Nice pool, easy set up. Just be sure that you have a perfectly level area for whatever diameter pool you choose. Even an inch lower at one end will cause it to fill unevenly. We tried using playground sand to even the area, but once the pool was filled, the sand compressed and the pool was off kilter. It's better to use a shovel or flat spade to dig out any high spots so that they're even with the low spots. We put a tarp under the pool to help prevent any sharp stones that we may have missed from puncturing the bottom, but it's a pretty tough material to begin with and I don't think we would have had any problems. We purchased chlorine tablets at a local home improvement store that fit in the filter so that the water is kept clean and algae free. And I would recommend a pool cover to keep evaporation to a minimum and keep the pool free of leaves and debris. I like this pool better than a metal or hard sided one. It holds up better against tough kids and doesn't break if somebody falls while getting in or out. For under $70, this was money well spent and we're enjoying a place to cool off on hot summer so. cal. days.

Perfect for us
In my experience, Intex is a great brand. We have a 4 foot intex pool that we've used in the past, but didn't want to put it up this year with our 2 year old running around. So we bought this one to use now while he is still not the best swimmer. It says it's a 30 inch, but you can't fill it to the top, so it's probably more like 24 inches deep. My son is 35 inches tall and it goes a little above his waist. It's a great size for us too. We can still float around in it. We usually have just 2 adults and our son in there, but we've had 3 adults plus our son, and still were able to move around comfortably without bumping into each other. I've never had any holes or tears with any Intex product before. Love them! This does not come with a cover, so I recommend getting one...we have the intex solar cover. It serves as a cover to keep out debris, but it also helps to keep the water warm and works great. This size of intex pool also does not come with a ground cloth, so we just used the one that came with our old pool, but you can just buy a cheap tarp from the store to use. I cannot say how well this pump works because we just used our old pump that came with the 4 foot pool. We also have the Intex saltwater chlorinator. It saves us so much money on chemical costs.

Great fun for 4 months...
It was a good little pool but it only lasted one summer. It was fairly easy to set it up, it took about 3-4 hours and feeding the neighborhood guys beers for an afternoon. I usually let the pump run overnight when we had been in it during the day and it kept it pretty clean. Make sure you get some kind of skimmer for leaves and bugs. You have to walk around the edges and push\shake the ring to get all of the junk out from underneath it so you can skim it out, a lot collects under there and if you don't get it out before you get in it will all come flying out when kids start doing kid stuff...all the bugs. I only used chlorine and the occasional shock if I we had forgotten to add chlorine or went away on vacation, but I don't like a lot of chemicals in the water. I went to a local ReStore and bought a large piece of used carpet to put underneath, and that worked great in my bumpy lawn. You really do need to try and get it as level as possible. When I tried to set it up this year it wasn't close to level and was a nightmare. I thought that I had stored it pretty well over the winter but I had two holes in the main pool. They patched very easily. The ring is an entirely different thing. I found about 8 littke holes that I patched up using soapy water so I decided to fill the pool up and open it up. I think we got 3-4 uses with me having to pump up the ring every day, and not being able to find any other holes, before we called it. Then we came out a few days later and the •bad word• pool had dumped all the water out and flooded my backyard. So, I'm torn between two and three stars it was great last year but it was a pretty big investment (I bought stairs, a solar cover, all the toys, chemicals, testers, thermometer, etc.)for 4 months of fun.

Air leaks and lack of sell response is disappointing
This is my third pool of this style. The first was given to me by a friend, and I was the third or fourth owner. The air ring had a slow leak. No big deal I figured, the thing was old anyway. Early this summer I got a new, off brand one for cheap at the local grocery store. It also had a leak in the air ring. I figured, well, that's what I get for buying an off brand piece of junk. Drained the pool and returned and got my money back. I then decided to get a good Intex one, $25 more than the off brand junk. Set it up, and two days later, another air leak! It's very frustrating to have to pump the air ring up a bit every single day. I had to arrange a neighbor to come over to inflate it every day while I was on vacation. What's even more frustrating is that I emailed the seller, Blue Fade Inc., about it and received not a single response. Nothing, just complete silence. Very unhappy. I will say however that otherwise build quality seems decent enough, pump seems good and nicer quality in every way than the off brand junk I bought prior to this one. My rating would be far higher if 1) there were no air leaks, and 2) Blue Fade had actually replied and provided some customer service.

Great pool. Worth the money for a summer of fun!
This is my second Intex Easy Set pool. I purchased an 8' by 30" pool about four years ago, and used it for a couple of years. This year we upgraded to the larger 12' by 30" pool, since the kids are getting bigger. This is one of the cheapest forms of entertainment I can find to keep my kids occupied during the summer. It may or may not last past this season, but it is worth it either way. I made sure to put down a ground tarp beneath the pool before I started adding water, this prevents any small rocks and debris on the concrete from puncturing the pool, and makes smoothing out the bottom much easier. It is also important to have a level surface for the pool. Mine is on the patio, and concrete is graded away from the house by design. This 2 or 3 inch drop over the 13' foot width of the patio does not cause any real issue, although it isn't ideal. The more level you can get the better, but keep in mind concrete patios are always intentionally sloped away from the house. Check out my 3 photos as well.

Level ground is a MUST and never over fill it!
I loved it, until my husband broke it, thus devastating my kids. We do not have grass in our yard, but stone since we live near the beach. So we leveled the surface, pounded/compacted the stone. Everything was looking great. We all were enjoying it for a little over a month or 2 and then it happened... my husband left the hose on for far too long. It caused the pool to over flow, causing the stone to erode, causing the pool to become unleveled, and then the inflatable ring had a slow leak in the seam. It was awful. I woke up one morning to half the pool drained and a gaping hole in my yard from where the water poured out. That's my story of how it broke and the importance of having it remain on a level surface. But, while it was working it was easy to clean, but we had to shock it often as the sun would eat up the chlorine. Our water is naturally alkaline, but adding acid was not an option. Buy one of the chlorine floats and fill it up often. The filter gets nasty fast so clean it out every day and I would suggest changing them often. But they do rinse easily. Set up was easy, once the surface is level. Tips: Buy the ground cover, its worth it to keep the weeds/mosquito away. Buy the chlorine tablet float, skimmer, chemical test strips, and solar cover. Our pool was already 80 by the beginning of June thanks to solar cover, but sadly by the end July, it was like taking a bath without the solar cover. Also,by the cover to keep the bugs and leaves out when you can''t use the solar cover.
