Kiwi neutral, though, will even shape up some pretty dingy ladies shoes if they're saddle soaped first and not scuffed up enough to require a bit or color to restore the scuffs. Ladies, skip the brush and buff your shoes out with clean washcloth first and a soft piece of cotton to finish. Brushes retain a bit of color so while you could use a new or newly cleaned brush, you're better off to use a washcloth with that "nap" most of them have as your first pass. There is a small hole in the center of the lid of the tin. Is that supposed to be there? I am assuming not .....** A: From a source that contacted Kiwi: The holes were placed in the lids to let an “oily goo” evaporate! Several batches of the black shoe wax were apparently mixed incorrectly and an oily substance was rising to the surface of the polish. Once Kiwi headquarters was made aware of the problem they were faced with throwing out all of their stock from these batches, which would cost a lot of money, or else fixing the problem as cheaply as possible. They opted for the latter. Temporary workers were set to the task of punching a small hole in the lid of each tin in the affected batches. . These tins were left sitting in storage and the holes were covered prior to shipping. **Q: Will it "re-die" the black color where it's worn off?** A: It covers pretty well. If all the black is worn off, I'm not sure how well it will do. Perhaps will several coats you could get the black color back. I polish my shoes about once a month, and they look very good, even after five years of wearing them almost every day. **Q: Got my polish. How do I open the tin? So hard!** A: There is, or should be, a little handle on the side of the can .... twist this little handle and it will lift the top so you can open it. **Q: Can it be used on faux leather shoes?
