Buy this one!
A few weeks ago I purchased a set of feet (edge binding and stitch in the ditch) off Amazon for about $6. That other foot looks absolutely identical to this one. No visible distinction. But... it already broke 3 needles before I realized that the other foot was just ever-so-slightly too loose where it attached to the shank,so the foot presses against the needle as it comes down. Until the needle just doesn't clear the foot, and snap! When I opened this new 'Distinctive' foot and compared the two, initially I was irked at how identical they look. But when I put the foot on my machine, its perfect. There is zero wiggle. Not on the attachment point and not on the guide itself. It snaps on easily, it is calibrated perfectly, and the Distinctive foot is 100% worth the extra couple bucks. Don't fall for the 'but I can get 2 or even 3 feet for half of what this one costs' logic. You will likely regret it. I haven't sent the other foot back (tho I should) because the other foot in that set works well enough and I don't need it often. Plus, the hassle isn't worth the amount I paid. But I am glad I decided to pursue the more expensive name brand option. This foot will last me a lifetime and it certainly isn't that expensive. I will not hesitate to purchase from the Distinctive brand again. Finally, I am making bias tape (sew tedious ๐) and decided to try out the new foot. Turns out that with the needle in the left hand position the guide is perfect for stitching the tape together. This is the cleanest bias I have ever made. The foot stays aligned perfectly, slides this cotton lawn over the dogs perfectly, and the needle clears sufficiently. Its perfect. Great product!

Great Presser Foot!
This edge joining (stitch in the ditch) presser foot fits my Singer 44S HD, low shank sewing machine. It feels well-made. Directions for use are printed on the product card. It was easy to slide/unhook the plastic packing off the card . I am new to learning the technique. I found it stayed in the seam (aka the ditch) much better than another presser foot brand I have. I would not hesitate to purchasing other presser feet from this company.

Great for topstitching!
Before I purchased this foot, I did a little research and found a good amount of tutorials on the different uses for an edge joining foot, which made it worth the buy. It fits my Janome 11594 without issue and since I sew apparel I've found this foot to be pretty versatile for my needs. Besides stitching in the ditch and joining fabrics, it works great for under-stitching facings. Most importantly I no longer have to use my straight stitch foot for topstitching. If your machine's straight stitch function has the ability to move the needle right or let of center, you will get perfect results. If you place the seam under the center bar and move the needle off center, the foot does all the work for you.

First Time Quilt Made Easier
I just finished my FIRST QUILT EVER!! It's a baby sized quilt, so nothing amazing. When I was shopping for feet related to clothing making I saw this foot and figured it was inexpensive so added it to my card with the quilt I just finished in mind. I pieced it together and finally got to the 'stitch in the ditch' part. Please keep in mind I am teaching myself how to make this as I go along. I don't even OWN a 'real' quilt, just machine made bedspreads etc. Now that I've used the foot I understand why it's so useful. My first quilt looks AMAZING. The 'ditch' stitching is neatly tucked into the joined seams. You can't even see them on the face of the quilt, but the quilt has that distinctive 'quilted' look. I don't know how else to put it. Now I'm going to try the Distinctive Free Motion foot for the all over quilting. I'll be reviewing that foot next! To the mechanics of the foot itself, it attached perfectly to my older Singer. The bit of metal that goes 'in the ditch' guides you really well, but it has enough 'give' that excessive pressure to it just nudges it over a little. You move the foot back, and the metal bit just goes back to center. Basically, I hit a few spots where it got tripped up by there being something to push against (my own mistakes in putting the quilt together) and the bit didn't bend. I was really afraid I'd ruined it a couple times, but it sprang back like a champ.

Does not fit Janome JW 8100
The Edge Joining foot does not fit my Janome JW 8100 machine, which is what I was wanting it for. I almost broke a new needle because I didn't check it carefully enough. However, the foot does appear to fit my Brother CE1100PRW machine.

It's a little cheaply made, but it was cheap ...
It's a little cheaply made, but it was cheap, so I'm not surprised. The tab did not work for sewing with knits. The knits bend it this way and that, so the line did not remain straight, which this foot is meant to allow for. I actually had change back to a regular foot for that. Worked as expected with thin to med-weight wovens. I would not use on more challenging fabrics, but it is decent quality for the price point.

Wobbly, Off-Center and a Poor Fit for Brother XR9500PRW
The center guide is wobbly and off-center making it impossible to use for stitch-in-the-ditch. The guide also extends too far back toward the needle, causing the needle to strike it.
