After reading a couple of Jeep owner's forums, I found out that the difference between a 15 gal tank and a 20 gal is some kind of something inside the tank. What that amounts to is externally a 15 gal and 20 gal are the same size. I can attest to this being true as this skid plate fit my 15gal tank perfectly. Dimensionally and by shape and design, it is exactly the same as the OEM skid plate I replaced on my '95 YJ. Hope this helps some other old Jeepers out there!

First, packaging was POOR - they simply threw the skid plate in box and shipped it - no packing material around it. As a result the skid plate was pretty beat up, with some significant bends in the metal on edges etc. I was able to bend everything back using hammers, etc, so it will still work, VERY POOR packing. This is a VERY heavy duty skid plate, worth the extra $$.I own a 1992 Jeep Wranger YJ. When I bought my Jeep it had a "15 gallon" gas tank in it, and my gas guage was not working. Keeping this short, I bought a new MTS 0065 gas tank for my Jeep. When I tried to put the new MTS gas tank in the original skid plate 1) The new straps were ~4 inches short, and 2 when I tried to put the tank/skid plate back into my Jeep the skid plate front hinge (by the rear axel) where ~4 inches from the lip it is supposed to attach to. I ended up calling MTS to ask them about what I was experiencing; the guy on the phone was EXTREMELY helpful and told me all KINDS of information about YJ gas tanks I had never heard before. The short answer is if you are going to replace the gas tank in your YJ, and you buy a new MTS 20 0065 gallon tank, then you are very likely going to NEED to also purchase THIS SPECIFIC Warrior skid plate for it to fit correctly.

I had previously purchased the Warrior diamond plate gas tank cover to match other diamond plate items I had installed on my Wrangler. However, when preparing to install the cover, I saw that the original skid plate had rusted. I had purchased the 15 gallon diamond plate cover because I have a 15 gallon tank. I started looking for a replacement for the 15 gallon skid plate and found one was not available. Because I had already purchased a 15 gallon diamond plate cover from Warrior, I contacted them for help and they wrote back saying I could use the 90710-20 gallon skid plate and the Warrior 15 gallon diamond plate cover would still fit over it. While not sure, I went ahead and purchased the above listed skid plate. Well, the engineers at Warrior were absolutely correct. The diamond plate cover I had originally purchased from Warrior slipped over the new Warrior skid plate and installed on my 1995 Wrangler with no problems! It looks great and the rust is no more! Good job Warrior!

I had to replace a leaking tank, and the skid plate was rusted out so I bought the warrior product. Excellent product, only required minor manipulation to get the bolts lined up (you should expect the same). Doesn't come with hardware or straps. Straps that worked perfectly are SPECTRA PREMIUM ST 212.

Received this gas tank skid plate in about 4 days from order. Amazing! I put it on my 95 YJ. It fit up perfectly with the stock holes. No drilling required. It took a little "manuevering" to get it up into place but that was expected due to the exhaust piping run. I used stainless steel hardware to mount it back up as the original fastners were partially corroded and gone. This item comes exactly as it is shown in the picture. black powder coating. No hardware or fasteners included. I also ordered SPECTRA PREMIUM ST212 FUEL TANK STRAPS to go with it. They were a perfect match.

Perfect fit for my 94 YJ. Much heavier gauge metal than oem. I pulled tank out and replaced pump and fuel gauge sender while the tank was out. Thought I should considering the hassle of pulling tank down again should the pump fail.

Bought this for a 1993 YJ and it fit just like the oem one.
