Great piece of kit and perfect addition for a home gym with limited space

I received this product and realized that it does not come with dumbbells. The converter itself seems well-made, but keep in mind that you need to have your own dumbbells to use it.

Unless I was purchasing some new curling bars, I wouldn't usually have gotten these but for someone who has a 'home' dumbbell kit, this looked interesting to 'repurpose' my current set into a new workout tool. These were GREAT and saved me money!Initially, I was skeptical about having these and wondering if they would even hold weight well but I popped them in and it worked great - it didn't feel like it was going to fall out thanks to the screw/lock mechanism where the weight clamps in was pretty good. For me, the dumbbells fit well - though, make sure you measure them.The shape of the bar is really nice and feels great - very ergonomic and they have a nice coating on them that makes it very grippy. Great quality!

Traditional weight lighting bars are long and difficult to store, I mostly have to store them standing upright behind doors at a slight angle to the wall or down the side of a wardrobe. I've collected various bars over the years some that lock using Allen keys, that scary spring clip, and the metal screw thread not matter which one I use the weights tend to loosen and start to clank together. Reps are then interrupted whilst they are tightened again.However this dumbbell converter has none of those problems above. For starters it can easily be assembled and disassembled making it far more easier to store. The clamping mechanism firmly grabs the dumbbell at 90 degrees to the bell making the screws or fasteners to the weights become under a different motion and are less likely to unscrew via force. Thus far I've not needed to stop my reps and re-tighten the screws on my bells.The bar itself when screwed together feels incredibly strong you get a little flex, the same you get with bars that do not separate in the middle. The only drawback being is that you need twice as many weight plates in order to balance the bells and to complete a smooth rep without, just for an example if your lifting 40kg with this set up you will need 4x10kg plates and although you can easily use the same 10kg plates on the standard bar set up. you really couldn't use the bell bar with 2x20kg but you can with the standard bar.I really like this bar and I am fortunate enough to have a ton of weight plates for various setups. I usually opt for free weights and hate having to share weights between bars so over the years I've collected a lot of weight plates.Obviously I am going to recommend this bar. Its awesome and seriously cool looking.

If you only have dumbbells you can convert them into a barbell with this set. easy done. Great purchase.
