Mucha's Figures Decoratives

Love Mucha and this book contains some sketches that I usually don't see. Would highly recommend this book to anyone.

i see that in this group of reviews i have commented on Alexander Calder, Marshall Rogers, Seurat, P Craig Russell, Jim Starlin ... but my all time very favorite artist is Alphonse Mucha. i have loved his work since something like 4th grade. art nouveau has been my early on most moving art experience from grade school on. i know i bought every Dover Mucha book back in the 70s that i could get, on a .25 cent weekly allowance. i have never felt any different towards his work to this day ... for me it is the most beautiful art i have ever seen.

Appropriately priced, well described, delivery well within time. Loved it.

Absolutely lovely, high quality, delicate drawings! Very impressed with how crisp the images are, and of course the selection is fantastic- everything is better than I could have hoped for!

This book is the best I've seen at showing a subjects basic pose, hand & leg placement, head angle and attitude. Also, the point of focus for the viewers eyes.

We purchased this for our son who is a senior art student at our local university. He likes the details and has used it many times as a reference.

This is another of the many Dover Art books I’ve bought on Amazon. They’re short (this one is 39 pages), just under A4 size and reasonably priced. Figures Décoratives was produced by Mucha in 1905 and contained 40 plates aimed at graphic designers rather than the general public. The pages are a shiny, very smooth paper and although the cover states “All 40 Plates in original color” the book is really a monotone publication with the plates in a brown (sepia) or light blue. This makes them less “crisp” than modern plates would be but they are excellent and I love them. I admire Mucha’s skills so much and I’m really pleased to add this to my collection of his books.

Dieses Heft ist großartig.Alle schönen monochromen Zeichnungen Muchas geballt in einem Heft...das habe ich immer schon gesucht.Als Künstlerin der Porzellanmalerei ist es für mich eine große Hilfe, die detaillierten Zeichnungen sind wunderbar nachzuvollziehen und davon zu lernen,wie man Komposition und Faltenwurf zeichnerisch umsetzt.Ein Muss für Künstler der figurativen Malerei.

Habe das Buch bekommen und mich riesig gefreut! Da man ja leider garkeinen einblick vorher hat, hatte ich schon die Furcht, dass es langweilig sein könnte, da ja viele schwarz/weiß-Bilder drin sind. Als ich es jedoch dann ausgepackt hatte, war ich total begeistert! Es hat ein schönes Format & die Bilder sind einfach toll, viele Dinge sind dabei, die man von Mucha sonst noch nicht gesehen hat! Also zum Zeichnen und staunen auf jeden Fall geeignet :-) und den Preis finde ich auch in Ordnung.5***** von mir !

I really love this book! I like all the images in it, it has some not so well knows or searchable on the internet of Alphonse Mucha. Some nice drawings/sketches as well. And I even used one of them as inspiration for a tattoo ;)I strongly recommend this booklet to everyone who is interested in his works!
