Not very good
Almost entirely about big and familiar buildings [cathedrals etc] and not enough about the small but well designed buildings used by ordinary people. For example, the country cottage, the Scottish tenement block and the small farmstead. I really enjoyed his wood and brick books. Especially the latter. This book has gone to Oxfam.

Architecture and Photography combined
This is a superb collection of some of the world's most iconic buildings by a master architectural photographer. Split into 2 sections (up to 1500 and after 1500) with an introduction for each, this book takes you on an unforgettable journey through history's greatest architectural milestones. Buy it if you appreciate architecture OR high quality, large format photography. Images are beautifully reproduced too.

Stunning big book
Bought this as a present for a fellow traveller rather than a book for someone interested in architeture. Wonderful photographs of places all over the world. Good to make a wish list of "must see" places. As I have not been able to read it myself I can only say that the person who received it was very pleased.
