FESTIVAL CHEERTwo things my wife loves: candles and Christmas. It's October, but I came home to see this thing burning. And I must say, I wasn't upset about it - I was feeling the winter festive vibes, myself. For starters, this candle is large for a single wick, as show in picture with hands for scale. That said, our first burn seemed pretty even, so I don't foresee tunneling issues, as the wood wick provides ample heat to keep the wax melted across the diameter of the candle - I'd probably just stress good candle burning etiquette, and probably stick to longer burn times of 3-4 hours to give adequate melt time and keep that wax even. Despite the wood wick heat, I would wager this could hit 100 hours, given the size. And speaking of wood wicks - man do I love the extra ambiance they give.My wife is prone to headaches for candles with paraffin wax or cheap scent perfumes, and this gave her no issues, which speaks to quality of wax and fragrance source. Scent has a moderate throw - filled our medium sized, open living room pretty noticeably, but not in a pungent or off-putting way. I will say, if you put this thing in a bedroom or smaller space, the throw might be overwhelming, but everyone has their own preferences - and we like our home scent modifiers (candles, EO diffusers, etc.) to only provide subtle background, not upfront, always in your face potency. For our living room, this is perfect. Smell is decadent - Festival Cheer gives moods of coziness on a snowy day. Sweet, warm, rich, as described are quite fitting. Candle fills out the mids to me more than anything else. The brights come from the apple and grapefruit, which present as faint citrus with a touch of tart falling to the mid, where the nutty notes dominate giving almost a rich butterscotch sweetness, softened by amber and the low backbone of subtle spice provided by the sandalwood - it all melds together very nicely, and your nose can either sort through the complexity for a while (for fun), or you can appreciate it as a whole pleasant total aroma.The jar looks lovely on the table. Twinkle effect of the wood wick is augmented by the plated glass, and looks great. Glass feels heavy and durable. Packaging was adequate and arrived in good shape. All in all, we are SUPER thrilled about this one!

Certainly, it is nice to discover a candle this large. Jeez, this item undoubteldy could burn several days. I get frustrated with the majority of candles on the market which usually contain 2.5 times less the volume. The aroma is a pleasant and homey. Comforting. The wooden wick works well; although it is an idea new to me, I can understand its merits. If you are looking for a way to start out Christmas with an item that is easy to place and possesses a simple appeal, this is it. The red glass is pretty, and the gold embossed on it offers and elgant and stylish presentation.

This may be the largest candle I've owned, with a 100-hour burn time, and 18 ounces of 100% natural soy wax. The Festival Cheer jar is bright and colorful, with the large single-wick candle nicely packaged in Styrofoam to prevent breakage or damage. Most noticeable is the sound of a crackling wood-burning fireplace, when the wick is lit. It certainly adds ambiance, and the overall look is impressive and definitely giftable for pretty much any holiday occasion.I do feel, however, that, even as a gift, this item succeeds more as a large, vibrantly labeled candle, than as a scented candle. I have found that large candles frequently offer a variety of fragrances within, as this one has notes of grapefruit, almond, apple and sandalwood. None of those scents are very distinct, and none of them seem to emanate much beyond the short distance of the candle. I let the candle burn down about halfway (the 50-hour mark), before concluding that even when layered, one scent upon the other, the fragrances are weak and not very noticeable. Even as an aromatherapy candle, these fragrances could be more prominent. Sometimes, I can enhance the smell with a small circulating fan around the candle, but even with added air circulation, this is a candle that's best kept and admired up close.All in all, though, the candle makes for an elegant gift and is well made and nicely packaged. The brightly labeled glass jar, itself, almost qualifies as a keepsake. A lot of thought and charm went into its design.Recommended. Made in China.

The media could not be loaded. I love soy wax candles as they are much less polluting than the paraffin type. These candles come in such pretty jars that I could not resist ordering two different ones - Festival Cheer and Pine Forest. Each candle was shipped in a box in which the candle was well protected by a styrofoam insert, which fit the candle and cushion it during shipping.I am very happy that both candles burn cleanly, without the tunneling seen in some candles. The sound of the burning wooden wick is very calming and relaxing. I love the scent of each candle, although the Festival Cheer is supposed to smell like almond and apple, it smells more like caramel or cookies to me. The Pine Forest does smell like a pine tree. I really like the scents of the candles. They throw off about the right amount of fragrance, and are neither too subtle or too intense. I am confident that the candles will burn for many hours, probably as long as the 100 hours as claimed in the description.I just love the jars. The shiny gold/green and gold/red colors are seasonal and very pretty. These candles would make a great gift. The sound of the burning wick, the sight of the flame and the wonderful fragrance is relaxing and enjoyable.
