Great optics and construction. Unbeatable for the money.
I usually don’t write reviews unless I really like something or really hate something. In this case I’m glad to say that I’m very pleased with this purchase. I ordered this spotting scope for an upcoming trip to the Grand Canyon. I wanted something small and light for air travel, but also reasonably priced and of course with the best possible optics in my price range. I also wanted to “digiscope” (take long range pictures with my Smart Phone) as I’m an avid birder but I don’t want to carry a ton of Camera Gear. For the price I honestly wasn’t expecting a whole lot, but I am quite surprised at how good this Spotting Scope is. Let me say that I’m not a novice. I have owned some quite expensive spotters (a Swarovski and a Leica), but after the airlines “lost” my $2000 TeleVid 77 on my last trip I am hesitant to travel with the Swarovski. Thus my search for something still very good, but not too expensive. This spotting scope has fit the bill perfectly. In the Box: The 70mm Spotting Scope, Zoom Eyepiece, Tabletop Tripod, Caps for both Eyepiece and Front Lens, a Soft Carry Case, Basic Instructions, a Lens Cleaning Cloth and a Universal Fit Smart Phone Adapter. The Spotting Scope: This scope is Rubber Armoured, Water and Fog Proof and has a decently large 70mm Objective Lens with anti-reflection Coatings. It has a standard ¼-20 Tripod Mount so it can be used on the included tabletop tripod or any standard Photo Tripod. The included Ring Mount allows you to rotate the scope radially and has a handy click-stop at both the Horizontal and Vertical positions. The Lens Shade is permanently attached and extendable, just slide it out when needed. The shade is also good for preventing dew from forming on the front lens in humid areas. The focuser works smoothly with no noticeable end play and only a tiny amount of image shift when reversing directions. The internal prism is made of BAK4 glass and is of the Porro type, which provides an upright and fully corrected (left to right) view at the eyepiece. Views through the scope are bright with good contrast and very little false color. The Eyepiece: The Eyepiece is a screw-on Zoom type with a magnification range of 25x-75x. It has a soft Rubber Eyeguard and features Long Eye Relief which is good for eyeglass wearers. Anti-Refection coatings provide good contrast. The included eyepiece cap fully encapsulates the eyepiece to protect the zoom mechanism from dust and weather when not in use. The Zoom action is smooth and linear and requires very little refocusing. The Tripod: The Tripod is a very lightweight tabletop type with an easy to adjust handle (just point then twist the handle to lock both axis). It places the spotting scope about 10” from the table and is reasonably sturdy. You can also use any standard Photo Tripod. The Soft Case: The included soft case fits the scope and tripod nicely and has an adjustable strap, a Velcro closure and an internal divider. It measures approximately 14” Long x 7” Deep x 4” wide. With everything in the case it only weighs about 3lbs 12oz. It looks well made of quality material. The Photo Adapter: The included Smart Phone adapter easily accommodated my very large Galaxy S6 Plus with no problems. It was relatively easy to install and adjust. It seems plenty stable and it holds my phone securely. I only had to use a very small amount of Camera Zoom to remove all vignetting and get a perfect corner to corner image on the phone screen. This type of setup is also nice for Group Viewing.Final Thoughts: Buy it, you’ll like it. The optics are exceptionally good for this price range. When carefully focused there is very little chromatic aberration even where sharp bright and dark edges meet at high power. That is exceptional for a scope in this price range. The field of view is wide and bright with lots of contrast. All in all I am very pleased with my purchase and would buy one again without pause. The prefect travel scope I was looking for. Compact, Lightweight and Great views, and if the airlines “lose” this one I won’t be out a months pay again!PROS:1. A Seriously Great Spotting Scope for the price.2. Very Good Optics3. Compact, Lightweight, Well Built.4. Digiscoping Ready5. Bright Views w/good Contrast6. Extremely Low Chromatic Aberration for the price.CONS:1. They really put the money where it mattered in the construction of this scope and given the low price point I feel like I’m nit-picking a bit to find anything to say here. One improvement that might be nice to see would be a more substantial sighting device. It has 2 little “pip” sites on left side that are functional, but a bit small for my older eyes. But I have found that if I just turn the Zoom down to 25x to get the widest field of view then pointing the scope is easy and I really don’t need the pip site at all anyway.

ESSLNB Spotting Scope 25-75 X 70 with Tripod Phone Adapter
This is my first time in purchasing this type of scope and I can say that the price was right. The unit feels well constructed and its carrying case makes it easy to travel with. The smart phone adapter will accommodate a Samsung S21 FE 5G smartphone with an Otterbox protective cover, 3 3/8 inch wide. The phone adapter is NOT perfect; but mediocre at best and having to adjust/readjust phone adapter to scope eyepiece. The scope's eyepiece area does not have enough fastening area to hold the smartphone adapter in place and the S21 with protective cover maybe a little to heavy. Finally, I spent about two(2) hours playing with the smartphone adapter and stopped.I'll update this review with more information once there is a sunny day.Update: 24 Jan 23. Decided to go to the lake on this sunny day. Set scope up using MX2000 Tri-pod, images(Geeses, seagulls and swans) were very clear and focusing adjustment was easy and fast. Updated overall rating from three stars to four. Did not take any photos using cell phone and smartphone adapter.Update: 29Jan23: Last update on this universal adapter. Using an old T-Mobile LG Optimos L90 cell phone as an example and referencing the third picture. The phone adapter does not have a way to adjust or center the camera lens of the phone left or right. Imagine how difficult it would be using a newer phone that has three lenses and the lenses are on the left side looking at the lenses.Although, it has been stated that the phone adapter "will / should" fit on an Andriod phone. Yes, if the phone has a single lens and the lens is centered; see pic. But it does not work for me.

Most bang for the buck
For the price, you can't go wrong. Perfect scope for the range. Clear quality, easy to setup and take down. Very solid lock so bumps/etc didn't move the picture drastically. The cellphone holder was a bit hard to get used to, but their customer support actually wrote me several days after asking if I had questions. I told them about the cellphone mount and they promptly told me to look at the video (duh). Worked like a charm afterwards. Highly recommend it.

It wasn't worth my money
This price for this product was good, but if you're trying to see anything at night or at a distance it doesn't work.

Great value for this price point
For an entry level scope, this is a great value. Pretty decent glass quality, adjustable zoom. The tripod that ships with it is sturdy and useful when you have a table or rail or something to set it on. I use it for birding, and it takes a bit of practice to locate objects, but the view is incredible once located.

TOTAL PIECE OF CRAP!
So incredibly disappointed! Always hit and miss when there are mixed reviews. First of all, as with others, I experienced the issue of the eyepiece protector not wanting to come off. Took my time and managed to get that off. Second, looked through the eyepiece (after the front lens cover just fell off!), and could see no daylight. Took a flashlight and looked through both ends, sure enough, the prism was loose and wiggling inside the unit. Couldn't be more upset right now! Of course, having friends over today to zero our scopes...not happening now! If I could give zero stars, that would be too many. Again, TOTAL PIECE OF CRAP!

Very Nice for what you pay.
I'm a firm believer in getting what you pay for, especially in the optics world. I got this as a last minute "Would be here just in time" for range day. Went from the front porch to the range immediately, and had full intention of returning it if it was junk. Spotting cope works excellent, clear image, very powerful (to powerful for what I'm doing, but I knew that). Unit is pretty sturdy, tripod stand is actually metal and solid, not cheap plastic. I have recommended it to friends & customers.Only CON was the little cellphone mount, real awkward to get it just right, barely gets an image on the screen due to the distance between the lenses. This isn't something I use anyway so no big deal. Honestly it had to do with your phone and/or phone case thickness, but I'd see this a problem regardless of spotter scope.
