GoChess Mini Smart Chess Board AI Electronic Chess Game Set for All Levels

As a chess player, I had high expectations for the GoChess Mini, and I must say it doesn’t disappoint. The compact design is impressive, providing a fully functional smart board without sacrificing quality or precision. One of the standout features is the seamless connection with the GoChess app. The LED lights are a subtle but powerful addition, making it easy to follow moves, explore openings, and enhance gameplay. Although I was initially concerned about the smaller size compared to traditional tournament boards, the GoChess Mini proved to be practical and highly portable—perfect for analysis sessions or travel games. The app’s integration with online platforms and Lichess allows playing against strong opponents worldwide, including AI simulations at different levels. The option to save and study games is something I hope they’ll expand further—having a way to import or export PGNs directly to the board would be ideal for advanced study. But overall, it’s clear that this product was designed with both beginners and experienced players in mind, making it a great tool for sharpening chess skills. Update a few months later: My kids took a few chess lessons at our local library and are now using the board to play (with AI hints). I challenged them to figure out why the AI is advising them to make a move and before they pick up a piece, where they think the AI will want them to move it to. It's been a great learning tool for them. Still very happy with my purchase!

So far, 5 stars. Just got it and set it up. I love that they use paper/cardboard for most of the packaging, which is ethically sustainable and even with that, the packaging has a premium look and feel. Setup was nice and easy and play so far is smooth. I love the size of the mini, which allows me to take it to work or anywhere I’d like and it comes with storage bags for the pieces. The pieces are magnetic, however they don’t stick to the board like a normal travel set does, I believe the magnets are more for the sensors more than anything, but it doesn’t detract at all from use. The pieces also have a good weight to them so it allows you to feel like you’re using a more traditional set, although it is lighter than a typical tournament set. So far I love it. I will edit my review in a few weeks if anything changes and comment on the continued use and durability.

Very good! Only played AI for now trying to rediscover my game. Won 7 lost 1 on level 8. Looking forward to playing online against someone. Excellent set for the price. Recommend getting the carrying case specific to the set.

Very well made chess board, it’s a mini, but does not feel mini, perfect size board. Pieces look and feel really good. I have not played chess in long while, but on level 1 , I won fairly easy, was just checking it out for my first game with it. So will try different levels. Lighting system looks really cool, looking forward to playing on line with a real person. Highly recommend.

I was really excited to receive the GoChess Mini as a gift for my dad, who loves chess. The board itself looks great and I’m very happy with it so far. Unfortunately, one of the knights broke at the neck shortly after receiving it, which was disappointing, especially for a brand-new product. I’m hoping Particula can provide a replacement knight rather than having to replace the whole set. I’ll be happy to update my review depending on how the customer service experience goes.

The layout is good and visual. It is outstanding equipment to develop your game when integrated with the APP. I am a happy buyer. The points for improvents are: (1) pieces could be heavier, (2) the board should be able to identify the pieces. For a new version i would recommend to create a bigger board that could flip for transportation.

So far I have loved and enjoyed this more than I was expecting! 3 games after 15 years 😞 One defeat one draw one win! Bring it on! As an introvert adult, this is a must-get! AI is amazing and with no one to judge you, it is an amazing tool to sharpen your chess skills and knowledge! I could have never played chess on my phone or on a computer but, this brings the power of an AI and the thrill of a physical game that you can feel and move the pieces! Well worth the money! Not bulky at all !

I have not played since I was a kid. This is huge fun and an awesome way to get back into the game of kings.

Le jeu d’échecs est parfait, les pièces modernes sont très jolies et agréables à manipuler, une fois connecté au smartphone tout fonctionne parfaitement, les parties contre l’IA correspondent au niveau annoncé

Very good AI board! You can have cheats for one person who is not such a good player against a good player and have an even competition. I really like that it lights up to whoever’s turn it is. It makes for a smoother game. My sons game has really improved!

Great item

I couldn’t be happier! I’m 73 and I’ve always wanted to learn to play chess, but I was always too busy or thought it would be too difficult. So when I saw this GoChess Mini advertised, I couldn’t resist because the board’s built-in computer will take me from Lvl 1 to Lvl 32 estimated from ELO 400 to ELO 3,000! 😀 The product was beautifully packaged and extremely well made with each piece giving a pleasant, tactile sensation. 💜 I only touched it for the first time two days ago, but each time I play I increase the “AI Strength”. It’s not only informative, it’s fun as it gives me various movement options. 😀
