The Aircast FP (Foam Pneumatic) Walker Brace / Walking Boot is a removable cast that will not limit mobility required for day-to-day activities while recovering from injury. It's specifically designed to provide protection and pneumatic support for stable fractures of the foot and ankle, severe ankle sprains, soft tissue injuries, chronic conditions including plantar fasciitis, metatarsal fractures, forefoot and midfoot injuries, bunionectomies and post-operative use. The low rocker sole promotes a natural ambulation (gait) for improved mobility while the generous foot base has ample room for dressings without sacrificing comfort. The lightweight, semi-rigid shell has a pre-inflated anterior air cell and 2 adjustable Duplex air cells located at the malleoli that can be individually inflated for a total contact fit and secure support. It provides the protection and stability necessary for a healthy recovery, and includes a hand bulb air pump which allows you to customize the level of support. Universal fit allows the Aircast FP Walker Brace / Walking Boot to be worn on either the left or right leg.

Incredibly Effective. Great Price.
Amazing product at a fantastic price.Wife broke her ankle. X-Ray ortho readout showed a simple fracture. Doc-in-a-box put on a cheesy strip-o-fiberglas-plaster "splint" costing $60 plus more than $300 for "fitting." Aircast is one fifth the price and fifty times better.Provides proper support and immobilization of the break allowing easy, pain free standing/walking. Air bladders allow for custom fit and adjustment as swelling subsides. Easy removal for bathing, icing, relaxing and sleeping. Liner held in place by velcro and can be removed for washing. Nonslip sole is secure on all surfaces yet does not catch or provide trip points.Purchased thru Amazon with same-day delivery--on a Sunday. Virtually instant relief. These are not for everyone or every situation but when it hits the sweet spot, Aircast knocks it out of the park.

Maybe good for breaks, not for tendonitis.
After healing up my plantar fasciitis by finally ditching the orthotics that my first podiatrist gave me, I then concentrated on getting rid of the lateral foot pain caused by those orthotics. This lead me to a new podiatrist who informed me I had peroneal tendonitis on the right foot and ankle. I was getting around pretty well and had alleviated 50% of my pain simply by doing away with all angled arch support, but with a hiking trip two months down the road my husband talked me into seeing a new podiatrist. He prescribed the aircast pneumatic and I was professionally measured and fitted. First off, I think the lower cut boot would have been sufficient but was given the knee-high version. On day one, my toes were being compressed by this boot no matter how long my husband I tried to adjust it. On day two I developed what feels like sciatica pain in the leg wearing the cast. Day three I had incredible joint pain in my opposite hip. I have never had any issues with my hips in my 51 years. Then the foot wearing the boot started to have arch pain. At that point I had had enough and found a sports compression brace that I could slip a shoe on over. It seems to be doing the job, however I now have to tell this doc on my follow up visit what I think of his aircast boot. Trading some aching tendons for major hip pain is not a trade I'm willing to make.

I just love this product so much!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't get mine through Amazon, I got it from the doctor after breaking two metatarsals by slipping on the ice! :P But I just love this product so much. I feel the least I can do is rave about it here for all potential buyers. If you have a severe foot injury, this is the boot for you. It seriously works wonders. It is amazingly comfortable and completely takes all the pressure off of your foot thereby making it SO much easier to walk. After I fell, my foot was throbbing and I could barely walk. Once I was put in the boot, it was smooth sailing!

The doctor gave me this boot for an achilles tendon ...
The doctor gave me this boot for an achilles tendon strain. I wore the boot for 3 weeks and then needed to have the injected, resulting in having to wear the boot for 6 more weeks...at about the 3rd week i called the company providing the boot for my doctor because the liner of the boot was completely worn out and the cushion for the heel was gone, and the air chambers wouldn't hold air. So they brought me a new boot. Made it thru the other 3 weeks. then 6 months later I had to put the boot back on. I've worn it 3 more weeks and it's trashed again. Even after having to re glue and putting more velcro in to keep the foot bed from sliding out. I also had to add more cushion to the foot bed and heal area. Not a purchase this boot again.

This one was by far superior. I didn't want to just rip the thing ...
I was in this last year for a number of months (first getting injuries to heal, and after surgery after they didn't heal). I have used other boots (all versions of the black ones) over the years for other injuries. This one was by far superior. I didn't want to just rip the thing away from my leg like the others!
