replaced an old lockset, a little chiseling on my door edge for the plate to fit(a little bigger than my old one). When flipping over the latchbolt(if you have to) be careful, watch a vid. Mine went sproing! and parts flew everywhere, had to figure out how it all went back together, But all's well now. Works great, recommend

This has got to be the worst doorknob I've ever installed in my life. The star pattern inside the mortise, which they conveniently do not show, provides zero grip, so once you start to tighten the doorknob, the spindle just slips and the latch will not go back into place. If you loosen the knob, it will just come right off and doesn't turn the latch at all.The doorknob was so poorly designed, I checked the 100 year old doorknob that it was supposed to be replacing, and sure enough, the hole for the spindle is square in shape. I cannot understand who thought the star pattern was a good idea.

Bought these for a house I was renovating with a cottage like setting. Better look AND price than I could find in any store. Definitely recommend if you're looking for this style doorknob.
