Makes ice cubes. Slowly.
Was in two minds whether to keep this or not. It is light and small enough for countertops and shelves. It makes ice easily but does take a while to make a good amount - small cubes takes at least half an hour to fill one glass to the top. As the machine can't really keep the ice cubes made cool, it's not suitable to keep out for parties and melts easily in Dubai's hot weather so you need to empty it frequently to store in the freezer. You also waste quite a good amount of water (about 500 mls) as it does not use the whole water reservoir - which is an odd design. Good enough if you don't really use a lot of ice.

My Thoughts on the Ecozy Ice Maker
I got this little ice machine for my kitchen a little while back, mainly because we were having friends over and I always seem to run out of ice. The box it came in was a decent size, and it fits neatly on my countertop without taking up too much space. It's got a sleek design, so it doesn't look out of place either. Setting it up was really simple, just add water and plug it in. The machine works surprisingly fast. I was a bit sceptical about the "9 cubes in 6 mins" claim, but it genuinely is that quick. It churns out a basket of ice in no time, which is brilliant if you need a lot in a hurry. You can also choose between two sizes of ice, which is a nice touch. I usually just stick to the larger size for drinks. The self-cleaning feature is also a massive win for me. It means a lot less hassle and scrubbing. What I really like about it is the sheer convenience. You don't have to remember to fill up ice trays, and you have a steady supply of fresh ice whenever you need it. It's been perfect for making iced coffees in the morning or for filling up a jug of water when it's warm. The ice cubes are nice and clear, and they don't have any strange flavours. The only slight drawback I've found is that it does make a bit of noise while it's running, a kind of whirring sound as it drops the ice. It's not loud enough to be annoying, but you definitely know it's there. Also, because the ice is just in the basket inside the machine, it will eventually melt if you don't transfer it to the freezer. So you can't just leave it to build up all day. Overall, I'd say this is a great little gadget. It's ideal for anyone who entertains a lot or just wants to have an endless supply of ice without any hassle. It's perfect for a kitchen, an office, or even a bar area. It just does what it says on the tin, and it's been really useful.

Fast, simple, reasonably quiet and will create enough ice for a SMALL group of people
I got this because the ice maker in my fridge/freezer failed on me and it's summer. Bad timing! What I can say in my limited use of it so far is thank goodness! :) Setting it up initially was a little fiddle. I have large hands and one thing you're supposed to do initially is wipe the insides out with a soft cloth and warm water multiple times. That was a bit of effort due to my hand size, but I got there and if I could do it pretty much anyone can. That done though (and leaving it standing for an hour for the refrigerant to settle) it was on to using it. The first round of ice generated was very small. Quite odd that it seemed to produce 'baby' cubes even in the large size initially but after that first lot they were excellent. It took about 6m (the instructions say 6 to 13m based on ambient temperature) even in the heat in my kitchen in a Queensland summer. Then it just keeps on coming. I grabbed that first sensible lot of cubes for a drink and left it running creating cubes until it had emptied the water. Splendid number of cubes in a pretty reasonable time! I'd say you could easily have this set up to cope for a small gathering of a handful of people, just keep if filled and refilled and running and the ice cubes will keep topping up (until the ice cube area is full or water reservoir is empty, in both cases it stops) I know some reviews suggested this was noisy, but I did not find it that at all. It makes two distinct sets of noises, firstly when filling the water area for freezing and then during the freeze (oh and I guess a third when it's emptying the new ice into the holder area) but none of them were intrusive to my mind. Loudest was definitely the clink of the ice cubes going into the holder area. Having the built in cleaning mode is also an excellent idea. It does take a while but just set it going every so often and you're always going to be good and ready for ice when you want it. This is my first standalone ice maker so I had really no idea what to expect, especially since this is so relatively cheap but I am exceedingly happy with it and feel a bit better facing the summer now!

Great thing to have when you love a cold drink!
More often than not, I forget to fill the ice cube trays and when I need ice, I have none. This changed that situation completely, now when I need ice, all I need to do is wait around 10min to get enough for the first drink, while a lot more is produced while I drink it. Comes with an ice bag too, that I filled with ice and put it in the freezer. Love it!
