Psychology
Psychology ; If you are like me you will want your own, unmarked edition and this is it; The used version are as close to new as to be worth it; A bit on the pricy side, but all collage text books are overpriced. As a disabled Vet on a fixed income there are time where i am forced to purchase from the used section. If you can fins it, there is a High school AP(advanced placement) version; same cover save the AP in the corner and half the price. Good hunting and best read the chapters on learning and positive reinforcement before the class even starts ;-)

Fascinating text and excellent educational reference!
I recently took a psychology course through UCLA extension, and this book was the required text. It provides a great overview of the field of psychology and organizes the material in a way that is easy to understand and follow. I particularly liked how the authors linked concepts in different chapters with relevant page number references. This furthered my comprehension of the subject matter as a whole. I kept this book after the class ended, and I've continued to read additional material from it (aside from class reading). It has a great resale value as well. I could have sold it back to Amazon for almost as much as I paid for it. Highly recommended.

Good..
There were some hand notes in some of the chapters, but it's decent overall.

Four Stars
Good price for a textbook that would normally cost much more if purchased from a college bookstore.

Poor-quality new edition of a classic text
I had a previous edition of this book from the early 1990s and it was excellent. So now I was looking for an up-to-date reference on basic psychological principles as I sometimes need this information when writing training material for my clients. Imagine my dismay, when I received the book, that TWO CHAPTERS ARE MISSING, and they are two of the chapters I particularly wanted. What is this ridiculous idea of "optional chapters"? Sell a complete book or no book at all! The book is very expensive, so to get it with missing parts is nothing more than an insult to me as a customer. In any case, Amazon didn't even give the chance to request or decline the "optional chapters", but just sent me the incomplete book instead, with the "optional chapters" marked in blue in the Table of Contents and Index - so they are there in spirit, but not in reality - reminding me of what's missing every time I use this book. I am NOT a happy customer regarding this purchase. The whole idea of an incomplete book with optional chapters is confusing to customers - if the publisher doesn't want to include them, it would be better to sell them as a supplement at additional cost. Shame on you, Wadsworth.
