Cyberpunk: the Roleplaying Game of the Dark Future Paperback – 1 Aug. 1990

Very proud of this purchase! I’ve been searching for a brand new fresh copy of Cyberpunk 2020 and I have finally found it! It is my first time to experience this Tabletop Role-Playing Game and I am very excited to play it! This book will also help me gain some knowledge for the upcoming Role-Playing Video Game Cyberpunk 2077! Which I am looking forward to!

Very interesting book.

quality goods superb

First, the bad. I used to play this game in my early 20's. Now, almost two decades later the image of streetgangs with funky hairstyles doen't do much for me. And the cyber tech described in the various books tend to be less inspiring than your average iPhone. That being said, it's still a cool Bladerunner type of setting to play in, and as such it can be adapted to a more modern scenario. The rules system is still very much functional and despite a few limitations, they are quite good. It's an easy system to learn and even situations the "ref" never prepared for can be drawn up on the fly. So, to sum it up: this is an old game. I remembered the setting as way more cool, but I like it in my collection and I actually plan to host a game shortly, although a few changes to the tech will be done. After all, who wants to run around with copper wires connected to your brain when you have experienced wireless?

This is the Classic RPG first published in the late 80s. I highly recommend it. It might seem a bit dated. But there lies it’s appeal. It will also give you background information before the PC game is released 2077. But warned though. Don’t buy it for £70+ you can get it from other game stores or the publishers for under £30

The book is still in print and can be purchased from the publishers for $30 + p&p. The RPG itself is wonderfully well crafted and while some of the ideas have dated a little (a lot of tech can be done on a phone now) it is fascinating to look at how we used to think the future would play out.

The setting is fairly familiar to everyone who grew up in the eighties, or has played many computer games. Dark future, with flashy neon signs and metal limbs etc.What raises this above the norm is the system, the game mechanics are excellently diverse and well rounded. the rules are easy enough but cover everything you need to cover all aspects of any adventure you could imagine.
