Solid collection of short stories
This was my first foray in the Noir series and I'll definitely look into some of the others. What follows is just a brief synopsis of a few of the stories. "The Chauffeur" follows the life of a prostitute and her pimp and the chauffeur that tries to save her. In "Big Brother" we see an educated Arab and his younger friend contemplate about many obstacles in life. "Like a Tragedy" features a man who returns to Paris after being gone for quite some time. He meets up with an old friend and rekindles an old love. He finds that while a lot of things have changed, some things never change. A jogger goes missing in "Revenge of the Waiters." "La Vie En Rose" showcases a man who is struggling to come up with an idea for a noir novel and he gets a little more than he bargained for when he comes across an opportunity to investigate a young girls death in the park. Finally, in "Precious" we see the story of a man getting caught up with some Russians when he tries to return a favor for a friend.

Paris noir
Very interesting and different stories. Be prepared to read something different in writing styles. if you have been to Paris it is interesting to know some of the places visited. I think that the interruptation to English leaves a little to be desired.f

Three Stars
Interesting, enjoyable stories of somewhat uneven quality. Faithful to the genre.

Scary
Mostly a collection of short stories with a few that are great reading but many stories are nearly incomprehensible. Some of the short stories appear to have been written by authors who should be on heavy medication. I actually gave my copy to a local used book store owner who thought that this noir series was just another collection of short stories. This particular book is unique and disturbing
