Excellent
I bought a different, cheaper winder from another site. The first ball seemed fine but then it stopped working! I took the plunge with this one and am glad that I did. It has wound all the wool that I had washed into beautifully neat balls and it entertained our church craft group as I wound some wool for one of the ladies. They all loved it too. Some people in reviews on it commented that it stops at times but it does that if there is extra tension caused by a tangle or knot. I see this as a positive thing, giving you chance to sort the tangle out. I would thoroughly recommend this item to anyone who is wondering if they should take the plunge. Please note, this is NOT a review of a free product but a genuine unbiased opinion.

Electric wool winder
I was excited to receive this wool winder as I thought it would save me a lot of hard work. However, I was very disappointed after trying to wind my first ball of wool. The winder was quite fast at first but the more yarn that is wound onto the cone, the slower the winder gets. You cannot, as suggested by the lady advertising it, have two going at once as you can’t leave the winder to “get on with it”. On my second ball of yarn the winder was so slow that it eventually stopped and I had to turn the knob to stop and then start it again. I know it saves the shoulder action that’s involved with a manual winder but it’s certainly not quicker. It takes me half the time with the manual winder, so that’s what I’ve gone back to. If I could give this a zero star rating that’s what it would get.

Speedy, robust and well made
Love, love, love this wool winder. Really great quality and I was impressed that it stops if the knot is stuck etc. winds a ball faster and with less stress on my shoulders forming a neat and tidy ball with the option to centre pull the thread. Great value, well made and does the job perfectly

Better than my hand crank version.
This takes a bigger ball of yarn and as its electric works well on its own and saves my hands. My manual one is not as efficient. I've rewound 5 balls in the time it took me to wind 1 on my smaller one. Can definitely recommend this ball winder.

Sent an old style model
After much contemplation I ordered this yarn winder. The first ball I wound came out perfectly. I did several more and they were terrible. They were very loose and unusable. I will need to wind them all again to be able to use them. I exchanged messages on Amazon with the seller but they never admitted I had been sent the old model (even though I had to send photos so they could see). I did my own research on YouTube and discovered it has been updated because the old model did not work very well. It is now on its way back to Amazon for a refund and I will get the updated version direct from caydo. That said, the contact with Caydo through messages was very good. They got straight back to me and did try to sort things out. But from what I can see from on line reviews what I experienced is not uncommon

Love it
The media could not be loaded. I was very hesitant about buying the winder as I thought it would be some cheap tat.I was very surprised as it has weight to it and not flimsy at all.The plastic is thick and very steady. It’s definitely a game changer for mead I no longer have a sore shoulder winding the yarn manually.Fantastic purchase would most definitely recommend.

I loved it UNTIL
I loved it. I used it four or five times, winding DK weight yarn in 100g cakes. The auto stop function was fab IMO, but I realized after time that it stopped it so hard it was cracking the plastic around the base of the spinning thing. Now it grinds, it stops randomly, I can't do more than 50g without it being unable to continue. It's pretty much useless and I can't return it. It's sad, but as for my review, fingering weight/smaller weights are the max it can do for long time use.
