It's my first Kindle, so I can't compare it to past iterations, but I can tell you it's delightful. Operating it is very intuitive, and simple. The crisp and clear text is just like reading from paper honestly, and it doesn't matter what lighting conditions you're in, it's comfortable to read on. When reading it in a dark room, it's just right- not too dim, and not too bright. In daylight, it's just as easy to see as a document on white paper. It's light, and thin, fits easily into a pocket. The battery life is insane- even though it's backlit, and has a fairly large screen, it's battery can last for weeks. It is possible to drain it in just several days, but that is reading for several hours each day. Also, it charges very quickly. Again, I can't tell you how it compares to other readers as this is my first to own... But I can tell you that it's extremely nice to read on. I was one of those who are reluctant to give up tangible books, who prefers paper over a glass screen. My new Kindle changed my opinion though. It's less bulky than a book, can hold a whole library to take on a cruise, or anywhere, and it really is just as nice to read as though it were printed paper. Lastly, I got mine in the sage green color- it was available in my favorite color!

This Kindle is just perfect! It's small and fits easily in my purse. The screen is glare free, so you can read outside in the bright sunshine. It's fast and so clear and holds tons of books and I have A LOT of them. Great price and it's just so cute! So happy with my purchase!

Love! I bought my first kindle and fell in love with it. Lightweight and easy to use. You can adjust the screen brightness and also the size of text. Touchscreen and only has one button. It comes with me everywhere. WiFi connection so easy use everywhere. The perfect gift for any book lover.

I really like this kindle. The screen quality is excellent. This is a touchscreen with controllable brightness. It feels very lightweight in your hand and very durable. I bought this for myself, but I am sure any book lover would love this as a gift. I like that the size isn’t very large and it fits comfortably just like a book wood in your hands.

I bought this Kindle for my mom, and it’s been a great choice. It was reasonably priced and has all the functionality she needs without the extra features that drive up the cost on more expensive models. It’s lightweight, easy to use, and perfect for everyday reading. A solid option if you want a straightforward e-reader that just works. Color contrast & screen clarity are great. It's new, but I'm sure it will last a long time.

You can’t tell me nothing—I absolutely love my little Kindle 😍 It’s so cute, and I’ve completely decked it out from head to toe. The size is absolutely perfect. I wasn't sure I would like the light-up screen, but you can really dial-in how dim or bright you want the screen. It's really lovely to use on an airplane, when you're sharing a hotel room and even when your bedside lamp at home isn't super bright. When it arrived, it seemed way smaller and cheaper than any other models I've owned (which is many, many.) After using for a week, I've come to appreciate that it is lighter and smaller. The screen itself is the same size as my last one, but the plastic surrounding it is smaller. I really like the feature that auto-turns on the Kindle when you open the case. I didn't think I would care, but I quickly learned to appreciate this feature. My only beef with this Kindle, as with my last Kindle, is they took away the ability to rotate the screen in any direction a couple of versions ago. I really wish I could rotate this 180 degrees, as my case has a strap to hold the kindle, but the strap position for my small hands would be WAY more useful if I could hold the Kindle upside down. I have to believe that their Kindle consumer base is 50% or more female, but honestly, it does not seem like they test this product with women, because of issues like smaller hands versus case functionality. Amazon doesn't make the case, but it is one of their recommended options.

I love this and with the Kindle unlimited I've been reading books ever since the day it came. I talked about it so much, how easy it was to read and how it didn't hurt my eyes that my friend wanted one also. It is lightweight so that I can easily read laying on my side in the bed at night. With the timer set for 10 minutes if I do fall asleep it will shut itself off. The book cover I bought with it turns it off whenever I want to shut it down and I'm done for a while which saves the battery. My books download fast. I like the color I chose and the stickers you can decorate it anyway you want. If you have anyone in your family that likes to read this is a great gift.
